Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Greg Heffley thinks that grade levels should be grouped by which of the following?

Answer: Height

Greg seems to think that if students were grouped by height, taller students wouldn't bully shorter students. However, that would mean that Chirag would be in the first grade (this actually implies that he is extremely short).
2. When Greg received a present with a "Bubby" tag on it for his birthday party, how did he respond in front of the partygoers?

Answer: He threw the present away in the trash as though it weren't his

It is unknown whether he retrieved it after the party was over. Greg mentions, though, that he has had some close calls in trying to not be identified as "Bubby." This is what Manny nicknames him (although Greg hates it; in fact, this is what bugs him the most about Manny).
3. When it's time for daycare, and Manny isn't done with his breakfast, what does he do with the remains?

Answer: He dumps it into the potty

Greg mentions that he helps get Manny ready for school. Because Greg has to clean up the remains in the potty, it affects his appetite during breakfast.
4. How does Greg smuggle a game past Rowley's father, who bans his son from playing games with any kind of violence?

Answer: He hides the disc in the case of Manny's educational game

When Greg is grounded from video games for two weeks after waking his father up with ridiculously loud heavy metal music, he puts his game inside the case of Manny's "Discovering the Alphabet" in order to play games.
5. Mr. Roy let Greg keep the negative campaign posters (for the election for treasurer of the student council) on the wall about Marty Porter having head lice because the claims were legitimate.

Answer: False

Mr. Roy told Greg that "fabrications" of others were not allowed. Even though Greg claims that Marty Porter's having head lice during second grade was legitimate, Mr. Roy took them down anyway. Greg thus knew his political campaign was over.
6. Who played Dorothy in the "Wizard of Oz" play?

Answer: Patty Farrell

Greg Heffley is resentful of Patty because she called out to Mr. Ira in order to cover the map of the USA for a test, which Greg intended to use to assist him to figure out the state capitals. One of the reasons Greg wanted to be a tree was to bean Dorothy with apples.
7. During Independent Study, some girls wanted to invent what type of robot?

Answer: A robot with ten types of lip gloss on its fingertips that would give dating advice

The boys thought that the idea was the dumbest idea ever, which led to the boys and girls splitting up. The boys wanted a robot that would repeat the person's name back after he says his name. However, they made a list of bad words in order to keep the robot from swearing. After Mr. Darnell saw the list, Independent Study was cancelled for the rest of the year.
8. Why does Greg think that Brian Little was fired from the cartoonist job of illustrating "Wacky Dawg" for the newspaper?

Answer: Brian used it to handle personal business

"Wacky Dawg" started off as pretty funny (at least for Greg); however, Brian later used it to handle personal business.
9. According to Greg Heffley, which is true about Bill Tritt?

Answer: He is always in detention

Greg saw his comic, "Dumb Teachers", and one of the strips being about Mr. Ira pooping his pants. He thinks that this is because Bill is always in detention, for his resentment of the teachers results in his wanting to pick on them.
10. Which of these students dropped out of high school and now works at the Food Barn?

Answer: Bill Watson

Greg and his mother meet this character at the Food Barn. In one instance, he asked, "Paper or Plastic?" which indicates that he works in the checkout.
11. How did Greg get out of having to eat the Cheese that the teenagers wanted to force him to eat?

Answer: He said that he was allergic to dairy

Greg had to do some quick thinking. When a teenager said, "You're lucky, punk" after Greg stated that he was allergic to dairy, he stated that his quick thinking worked.
12. What did Rodrick do that got him into trouble by his mother?

Answer: He possessed a magazine that his mother doesn't allow

Rodrick had a heavy metal magazine, and one of the pages showed a woman in a bikini lying across the hood of a car. (Manny brought this to show-and-tell.) Even though Greg thinks that this is nothing to get annoyed over, his mother doesn't allow this. Rodrick thus had to answer questions about having owned this offensive magazine.
13. Where did Abe Hall carry the Cheese Touch? (In other words, where did he move?)

Answer: California

The city he moved to was never specified. Regardless, when he moved to California, the Cheese Touch did not recur until Greg lied about having thrown away the cheese.
14. Why did Ronnie McCoy get all the girls in his class in elementary school?

Answer: He was the fastest runner

According to Greg, the fastest runner in elementary school got all the girls. In middle school, the situation is much more complicated.
15. Why did Greg even agree to do a diary (which he insists on being called a journal) in the first place?

Answer: When he's rich and famous later on, he will use this book to not have to answer questions

Greg keeps on talking about being rich or famous. Should this happen, Greg would use this book so that people who want to know about his earlier life will use the book in lieu of having to ask Greg.
