Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Young Couple Gets Tricked By Snake in Garden of Eden"

Answer: Adam and Eve

God told Adam and Eve, they could eat from all the trees and fruit of the Garden of Eden, except the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. One day when Eve was alone in the garden, the snake tricked Eve by telling her that God didn't really mean what He said.

The snake told her to eat the fruit. He lied and told her God just didn't want her to be like He was. Eve believed him and also gave some of the fruit to Adam. They were scared when they realized that they had made a huge mistake. They ran and hid. God was very sad when He found out what they had done.

He had to send them away or they would eat from the Tree of Life and have to live in sin forever. (Genesis 3, NIV)
2. "Brother Kills Brother: Sacrifice Not Accepted By God"

Answer: Cain and Abel

After Adam and Eve sinned and left the Garden of Eden, God required the sacrifices of animals for sin. Cain and Abel were instructed to bring sacrifices to please God. Cain brought fruits, vegetables, and things that he had earned from farming the land. Able was a shepherd and brought a lamb. Able's sacrifice pleased God because it was an animal like God had required. Cain became angry and jealous that God approved of his brother. God told Cain, that if he offered up the lamb he had, God would accept his sacrifice too. Cain did not listen and killed Abel. God asked Cain what he had done. Cain had to be sent away from his family and was cursed. (Genesis 4:1-15, NIV)
3. "Man Celebrates His 969th Birthday: Oldest Man Alive"

Answer: Methuselah

Many people before the great flood lived to be several centuries old. Methuselah was the grandfather of Noah and lived to be 969 years old. He was the oldest man in the Bible. His name meant, "When I am gone, the end will come" or "judgment". He died just before the flood. (Genesis 5:27, NIV)
4. "Man Walks With God and Disappears"

Answer: Enoch

Enoch was a prophet in Genesis, who prophesied God's coming judgment when people were being really wicked. The Bible said he walked with God, which also meant Enoch served God faithfully and talked with God every day. He walked with God so closely that one day, he disappeared. His son Noah, built the ark. (Genesis 5:21-24, Hebrews 11:5 NIV)
5. "Preacher Builds a Boat with Two Animals of Every Kind To Avoid Flood"

Answer: Noah

Noah was a preacher of righteousness, even when many people laughed at him for doing the right thing. God gave Noah the exact plans to build an ark, a large boat, to save the world from a great flood. Noah obeyed God's word to the exact detail, even though there had never been any rain before. Noah's family also helped him do what God required.

They gathered food and supplies. They also followed God's directions to gather two of every living animal kind on the earth. (Imagine living with the skunks and the snakes!) When it was time to go, Noah's family got on the ark and God shut the door.

After the flood, God was so pleased with Noah's thanks and obedience, God made a rainbow in the sky. God promised never to flood the earth again. (Genesis 6-9, NIV)
6. "90 Year Old Woman Laughs When God Says She Will Have A Baby"

Answer: Sarah

God promised that Abraham would be the "Father of Many Nations" and have descendants like the stars of the sky. However, as an old man, Abraham and his wife Sarah started to have their faith shaken in that promise. One day, strangers (which were angels) came to visit Abraham, and Sarah overheard them tell him that she would have a baby within a year. Sarah started laughing. When they asked if she laughed, Sarah lied and said no. Later when their baby was born, God named him "Isaac", which means "laughter".

(Genesis 18:12, NIV)
7. "Son Is Saved From Sacrifice By A Ram and Father's Faith"

Answer: Abraham and Isaac

Isaac was Abraham's only son. Isaac's birth was a miracle, because his parents had him when they were old enough to be many people's great grandparents. One day God asked Abraham to do something very hard. He asked Abraham to give Isaac up as a burnt offering, which meant he had to kill his only son on an altar. Abraham took Isaac up to the place where they praised God and Isaac noticed that they had all the supplies except the lamb.

When they got to the altar, Abraham told Isaac that he was the offering.

Instead of running away, Isaac allowed himself to be tied up and his father raised the knife. Before his father could hurt him, God told Abraham to look! God showed Abraham there was a lamb in the bushes! Abraham praised God and set Isaac free. God told Abraham he knew that He loved him more than anything. (Genesis 22, NIV)
8. "Woman Becomes Bride By Watering Camels"

Answer: Rebekah

Abraham was needed to find a wife for his son, Isaac. He sent his servant with many gifts back to his homeland to find a lady that was would be a perfect bride. The servant wanted to find a woman that would please God and his master, so he prayed for a sign.

He asked God to send a woman to water his camels and offer him water after their long journey. Rebekah answered his prayers and did exactly what the servant had asked God. She was also very beautiful and brave. She agreed that if it was God's will, she would leave her family and go to marry Isaac.

When the servant came back with her, Isaac ran to meet her. They loved each other. (Genesis 24, NIV)
9. "Runaway Renamed After Wrestling With Angel"

Answer: Jacob

Jacob had a talent for getting into trouble. He loved the things of God so much he was willing to cheat his brother for them. He cheated his brother Esau out of getting the family inheritance, which is all the land and blessings his brother would have gotten when his father died. Esau was so mad he vowed to kill Jacob and Jacob had to leave his family. Jacob was so tired from running for his life, he fell asleep. During the night he wrestled with an angel. "Let me go!", the angel cried. "Not until you bless me!", Jacob responded.

The angel asked Jacob what his name was. Jacob had to tell him. Jacob's name meant "cheater". The angel replied he could not bless that, but he would change Jacob's name to "Israel", which meant "Prince with God". God promised to bless and be with Jacob. God protected Jacob and reunited him with his family again.

He even made peace between Jacob and his brother Esau. (Genesis 32:22-32 NIV)
10. "Lost Son Becomes A Ruler in Egypt: Forgives Family"

Answer: Joseph

Joseph had many dreams that made his brothers jealous. His brothers also thought their father loved them more than them because their father gave him a coat of many colors. One day they threw Joseph down a deep well, hoping he would die. They changed their minds when a group of traders came by and sold Joseph off as a slave.

Many years passed and Joseph faced many hardships. His brothers and their father thought he died. Then one day they ran out of food and went to Egypt to buy supplies. Imagine their surprise when they found out Joseph was a ruler. Joseph put them through a test by taking their youngest brother Benjamin and putting another brother in jail.

They did whatever Joseph asked to get them out. He later forgave them and wept when he found out they had changed.

He told them what they meant for evil, God turned around for good. He told them do not be afraid. He brought the entire family back to Egypt and took care of them so they would not go hungry. (Genesis 50:19-21, NIV)
