1. Which series of books involved an alien invasion and several teenagers who could transfigure themselves into animals?

Answer: Animorphs

Written by K.A. Applegate, the series followed five teenagers as they fought to stop the alien invasion. They were granted powers from a dying alien warrior who left them as the only hope against the Yeerks.
2. More than 130 books were published in which series, for which the first books were written by Gertrude Chandler Warner?

Answer: The Boxcar Children

Warner only wrote the first 19 books in the series, but other writers took over and continued her work.

The books followed the Alden family who were at one time orphans left on their own. Early in the series Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny met their grandfather. The grandfather turned out to be a nice, and wealthy, man who took them all in and moved their boxcar to his backyard.
3. Who is the author behind both the "Fear Street" and the "Goosebumps" series of books?

Answer: R.L. Stine

When I was a child the "Goosebumps" books were the scariest thing around. There were more than 60 books in the main series, plus five spin off series that each had more books. A television series and a big screen movie were also produced about the series.

This line was uttered to Harry by Hagrid soon after they met.

The book series was "Clifford the Big Red Dog". Clifford was first published in 1963, and has had more than 80 books, an animated series and several animated movies made about him.

"The Chronicles of Narnia" was a seven book series written by C.S. Lewis.

The first book, "Curious George", launched an empire in 1941. The series would be translated into dozens of languages and produce hundreds of books, several television series, multiple movies and other mass media representations.

The man who owned and cared for George the monkey didn't receive a formal name until 2006 when the live-action movie starring Will Ferrell was released. His name was revealed to be Ted Shackelford.

J.R.R. Tolkien wrote "The Hobbit" in 1937. Originally it was written for a young audience, but now is considered for an older reading level. The book was so popular that through the end of the 20th century it never went out of print.

The publisher requested a sequel and Tolkien began to work on "The Lord of the Rings" which was published in three parts: "The Fellowship of the Ring", "The Two Towers", and "The Return of the King".

Answer: Caldecott Medal

Written and illustrated by Maurice Sendak, the book sold more than 18 million copies. The story is told with less than 400 words, instead focusing on a combination of the words and pictures to tell the complete tale.

In 2009 the book was adapted into a feature film.
