"Prudence the Part Time Cow" was published By Godwin Books, an imprint of Henry Holt, in 2017. It was written by Jody Jensen Shaffer and illustrated by Stephanie Laberis. Shaffer, a native of Missouri, has written children's books on a variety of suspects.

"They loved their best friend Dog" states the book. The book details the adventures of a stuffed chicken, pig and cow who find their barn a little crowded. They move around until they find a doll house which they like, but which moves around a little too much for their taste. In the end, the Dog winds up retrieving their barn for them.

"Chicken, Pig, Cow: On the Move" was published by Firefly Books in Ontario in 2009. Ruth Ohi, a native of Toronto, has written over 60 children's books, which have been published around the world in many languages. She has traveled extensively throughout Canada.

Answer: wrestling

Taking a page from "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer", Clancy is a Belted Galloway, but he has no belt. Clancy tries to pretend to have a belt with little luck. HIs herd competes with a herd of Herefords in an annual wrestling contest, where the winner earns grazing rights.

Clancy's being beltless works to his advantage because he can sneak onto the good grazing lands at night. He grows strong and defeats the Hereford champion, earning grazing rights for the Galloways. Clancy falls in love with a Hereford named Helga, and they ended the war between the two herds of cattle. At the end, they have a daughter named Clanga.

"Clancy the Courageous Cow" was published by Scholastic Australia in 2006. It was written by Lachie Hume when he was 12 years old. It was published with the help of his mother, children's author Alison Lester.
4. In "The Cow that Wouldn't Come Down" by Paul Brett Johnson, what is the name of the title cow?

Answer: Gertrude

The cow that wouldn't come down was Gertrude. Her owner was Rosemary, and Matilda was the decoy cow that Rosemary used to try and bait Gertrude into coming down.

Rosemary tried a wide variety of ruses to get the flying cow to come to the ground. She lured her with alfalfa, tried a fishing pole and a lasso, and finally builds a decoy cow out of sacks to "replace" Gertrude. The cow eventually returned to the farm, but in the last illustration, Gertrude was driving away on a tractor.


"The Cow That Wouldn't Come Down" was published by Orchard Books in 1993. Paul Brett Johnson, a native of Kentucky, has written over 20 children's books, many of them stories about animals.

Answer: He is a vegetarian.

Tina is an adventurous cow. Her sisters mock her adventuresome spirit as ridiculous. Tina climbs a tree where she encounters a vegetarian dragon. In most other respects, he seems like a normal dragon; he flies, breathes fire and is scaly and green.

In the end, Tina's sisters join her for flying lessons with the dragon and everyone winds up sky diving. In the last illustration, the cows are on a rocket ship.

"The Cow Who Climbed a Tree" was published by MacMillan Children's Books in 2015. It was written by Gemma Merino, an architect from Barcelona who decided to become an illustrator. Her first children's book was "The Crocodile Who Didn't Like Water."

Answer: Elwood

Elwood is the name of the father. His family encounters magical flying cows, who deliver baseball gear. The family spends Christmas morning playing baseball with the cows. The cows also sing Christmas carols and deliver a lovely tree.

The story is a direct homage to Clement Moore's "A Visit from Saint Nicholas". There is an odd amount of commercialism, with several references to Dominos Pizza, including a pizza delivery man in the background.

"Santa Cows" was published in 1991 by Green Tiger Press, an imprint of Simon and Schuster. It was written by Cooper Edens, with watercolor illustrations by Daniel Lane.It was followed by "Santa Cow Island" (1994) and "Santa Cow Studios" (1995).

Cooper Edens wrote his first children's book in 1978, and wrote about two dozen children's books between 1980 and 2000. He is a native of Seattle.
