Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Acropolis of Athens is the location of what famous structure?

2. Who supplied the voice of Lucky in the movie "3 Pigs and a Baby"?

Answer: Jesse McCartney

Jesse McCartney voiced Lucky in the movie "3 Pigs and a Baby," a wolf who was raised by three pigs (who were all brothers). A group of wolves left Lucky in a basket on their doorstep so that they could infiltrate the pigs' home in the future.
3. Someone has told you that they want to have a "naranja" for a snack. "Naranja" is spanish for what food?

Answer: Orange

Naranja is spanish for orange. The spanish word for apple is la manzana. Zanahoria is carrot, and papa is potato.
4. Hematology is the study of what?

Answer: Blood

Hematology is the study of blood. Cardiology is the study of the heart. Dermatology is the study of the skin. Hydrology is the study of water.
5. If you listed all the planets in our Solar System in alphabetical order, Saturn would be last.

Answer: False

If you listed all the planets in alphabetical order, Venus would be last. Earth would be first in the same list.
6. What is the capital of Zimbabwe?

Answer: Harare

Harare is the capital of Zimbabwe. Cairo is the capital of Egypt, Bamako is the capital of Mali, and Djibouti is the capital of Djibouti (Djibouti is one of only a few countries in the world that has the same name as its capital).
7. Neptune is the Greek god of the sea.

Answer: False

Neptune is the Roman god of the sea. Poseidon is the Greek god of the sea. They are basically the same. However, the Romans were greatly influenced by the Greeks. The Romans basically copied the Greeks' gods, but changed the names.
8. What cartoon character is often seen wearing green shorts with purple flowers on them, and no shirt?

Answer: Patrick Star

Patrick Star is the dim-witted, yet sometimes funny, best friend of SpongeBob SquarePants, from the show of the same name. Ash Ketchum is from the "Pokemon" series, Timmy Turner is from the "Fairly OddParents" series, and Hugh Neutron is from the "Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" series.
9. Fossils can only be preserved within sedimentary rocks.

Answer: False

Fossils are more commonly preserved within sedimentary rocks because the sediment surrounding the fossil-to-be is able to harden and compact, thus preserving the fossil. Igneous rocks are made from hardened lava, which makes them unsuitable to perfectly preserve fossils.

However, there have been fossils preserved within metamorphic rock in some parts of the world.
10. Which of the following U.S. Presidents was never married?

Answer: James Buchanan

James Buchanan, the 15th U.S. President, is the only one of the choices never to have been married. Bill Clinton is married to Hillary Clinton, John Adams was married to Abagail Adams, and William Henry Harrison was married to Anna Harrison.
