Momos are a type of dumpling and are common in the cuisines of Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan as well as the state of Sikkim and the Darjeeling region of India. They are believed to have originated in Tibet and then spread along with the migration of the Tibetan people.

The outer covering consists of flour kneaded with plain water and then filled with a variety of meat and other ingredients. The dumpling is then steamed and served with different sauces. It is perfect to be eaten in the cold climate of the Himalayan regions.
