If you like sunshine, California is the place to be. The 73 sunniest cities (population over 50,000) are in the Golden State. Fresno tops the list by dint of its 2013 population, 466,000. The quote is from a John Denver song.

Answer: Gardena, California

Gardena has an average snowfall each year of 0.0 inches. The three wrong answers are all in the top ten most snowed-upon cities. "Skol to the Skier" is the title of a song by Bob Gibson.

Answer: Phoenix, Arizona

Arizona is, in fact, the worst place to go if you like to study cloud formations. The top 12 (out of 101) cities with a population over 50,000 in terms of cloud-free days are in the state. The three wrong answers are among the cloudiest cities in the USA.

Of the cities with a population of more than 50,000, the highest average temperature can be found in Hialeagh, Florida, where it gets to be 77.9 degrees F.
Indio, California is Number 41 on the list, with an average temperature of 74.5 degrees F.

Answer: Anchorage, Alaska

These are the four coldest cities of a population of more than 50,000. In Anchorage the average temperature is 34.3 degrees F. Fargo is the 'warmest' of the four, with a relatively balmy 41.5 degrees.

With 805 law offices in 2005, San Diego topped the list. The other three places mentioned were in the top five. The introduction to the question is a play on the Tom Paxton album title "One Million Lawyers and Other Disasters". In the early 2000s, America reached the point of having one million registered lawyers, a fact Paxton predicted some 15 years before.

Answer: Enumclaw Plateau, Washington

Those four are all in the top ten wettest places, but Enumclaw Plateau is the wettest of the wet with 84.9 inches a year. (Figures for cities of a population greater than 50,000.)

Answer: Syracuse, New York

Syracuse has an average of 115.6 inches of snow. It takes the title by dint of having a much higher 2013 population, 140,000, over nearby Clay, NY, 58,000.
10. The Windy City is mighty pretty, but the windiest urban place in the US is not Chicago. Which of these is it?

Answer: Brockton, Massachusetts

Six of the top ten windiest cities with a population over 50,000 are in Massachusetts. Brockton tops the list with an average average wind speed of 14.3mph.
