5. Grater lawn din?
Answer: Greater London
London's many tourist attractions include the London Eye, Big Ben, the Tower, and Buckingham Palace. Hey you Londoners, write and tell me the best less-known places to visit in Greater London. I'll include the information here. I went to London once and loved it. My bike group and I cycled down to Brighton.
In Brighton, here's what the youth hostel hosts gave us for breakfast: cornflakes, fried eggs, bacon, canned Spaghettios (I kid you not), and bread fried in bacon grease (which my Canadian mum used to make on camping trips, too). That was in the 1970s, so maybe you Brits eat differently today.
6. Worst too sure?
Answer: Worcestershire
It's in the middle of England, a bit towards the southwest. Worcestershire is home to Evesham, Bewdley, Kidderminster, Mamble, and Tenbury Wells.
7. Knorr's tumble lend?
Answer: Northumberland
It's at England's northern tip, so it's appropriately named. Northumberland is home to Hexham, Haltwhistle, Cornhill-on-Tweed, and Wooler. Player Freddy_Krueger reminds me that Alnwick, Northumberland has a castle that stands in for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies. Also, Alnwick is supposed to be one of the best places to live in all of England, according to Country Life magazine.
8. Kern wool
Answer: Cornwall
Cornwall forms a peninsula at England's southwestern tip. It's home to Falmouth, Land's End, Penzance, and Tintagel. My English cousins, the Moneys, live there. And it's where Cornish pasties come from (meat pastries--very tasty).
9. Hair furred sir?
Answer: Herefordshire
Herefordshire is smack up against Wales, in west central England. It's home to Bromyard, Ledbury, and Ross on Wye (and of course Hereford).
10. Nodding hem sheer?
Answer: Nottinghamshire
Robin Hood country. Nottinghamshire communities include Mansfield, Newark, Worksop, and of course, the evil sheriff's home. I apologize to all you British players for presuming to make a quiz about your country, especially since I've only visited it once. Please send corrections and suggestions for additional interesting information.
For example, what special foods can be found in the various parts of England? By the way, if you are American and got a perfect score on this quiz, you should pat yourself on the back. Thanks, Robyn
