Answer: North Carolina

The Wright Brothers National Memorial is located in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. (At the time of the flights on December 17, 1903, Kitty Hawk, NC was the closest town.) In addition to the memorial itself, you can go through the visitor center, see a replica of the hangar they used, and see markers that show the starting and ending points of the flights.

The longest of those flights was less than 1,000 feet. The stamp in the photo celebrates the 100th anniversary of the first flights of the Wright Brothers in 2003.

Mount Rushmore National Memorial was carved under the leadership of Gutzon Borglum and his son Lincoln Borglum during the period of 1927-1941. It includes the heads of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Lincoln. The small town of Keystone (337 in the 2010 census) was founded as a mining town but it later its economy focused on serving the tourists who came to see Mount Rushmore.

The Little League World Series has taken place every year since 1947 in South Williamsport, PA, and includes teams from around the world. All of the games have free admission. Independence Hall, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was built in 1753 and originally intended for the use of the government of the colony of Pennsylvania. During the 1790s, the building housed governmental activity for the United States, the state of Pennsylvania, the county of Philadelphia, and the city of Philadelphia.

Detroit, Michigan has a strong connection with the automobile industry including Ford, Chrysler, General Motors. This is reflected in the name of the NBA team, the Detroit Pistons and the Motown (Motortown) record label. The four Great Lakes that touch Michigan are Superior, Michigan, Huron, and Erie. Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac is his full name.

The Grand Canyon is 277 miles long, up to 18 miles wide, and in areas is over 6,000 feet deep. The Colorado River created the Grand Canyon over the course of several millions of years of erosion. John Wesley Powell led a three-month expedition through the Grand Canyon in 1869. Two of the popular recreation activities at the Grand Canyon are descending to the canyon floor on mule-back and rafting along all or some of the Colorado River through the canyon. No wonder one of the nicknames for Arizona is the Grand Canyon State.

The Statue of Liberty (or "Liberty Enlightening the World") was a gift to the United States from France. It was designed by Frederic Bartholdi and construction was supervised by Gustave Eiffel. The statue sits on Liberty Island in New York City harbor. New York City is not only the largest city in New York state but in the entire United States, with an approximate population of 8.5 million in 2015.
