Answer: Belize and El Salvador

Belize is on the Atlantic coast only and El Salvador is on the Pacific.
2. What two countries in North America border THREE oceans?

They border the Pacific, Atlantic, and the Arctic Oceans.
3. Which of these South American countries borders two oceans?

4. Which of these countries borders only one ocean?

Answer: Mali

6. What continent-based (no small islands) region would you encounter first if you sailed due east on the Atlantic Ocean from Miami, FL?

Answer: Western Sahara

Many American people initially believe that European nations are at the same latitude as the USA. They are usually surprised at how much further north they are.
7. What country would you encounter first if you sailed due north from the Shetland Islands, passed over the North Pole (assuming no polar ice cap), and continued in a straight line south?

Answer: Russia

Landfall would be in eastern Siberia, Russia.
8. What country would you encounter first if you sailed due west from Oreti Beach, NZ (just west of Invercargill, NZ)?

Answer: Argentina

Australia and Africa are too far north to interrupt this oceanic trip.
9. What 'new' ocean has been defined as the waters surrounding Antarctica?

Answer: Southern Ocean

This ring ocean, which surrounds Antarctica, is part of what isolates the continent on a weather basis. Most ocean currents are broken up by continents, which helps divert waters warmed in the tropics to more temperate climes. But the Southern Ocean's uninterrupted current at its latitude helps quell storm systems coming from the tropics and keeps Antarctica technically a desert (receiving less than 10 inches of precipitation a year).
10. What continental landmass borders all but one of the world's oceans?

Answer: Eurasia

The Southern Ocean - surrounding Antarctica - does not border the Eurasian landmass.
