Answer: their brother, John Chamberlain, who was a minister

While at Gettysburg, Joshua and Thomas Chamberlain enjoyed a short visit with their brother, John Chamberlain. John Chamberlain was a member of the U.S. Sanitary Commission and was also serving as a chaplain in the Army of the Potomac.

Although Wade was killed at her sister's home on Baltimore Street, she actually lived with her mother on Breckinridge Street where she worked with her mother as a seamstress. Her home at the time of the battle no longer stands. The Jennie Wade house on Baltimore Street was the home of her sister, Georgia McClellan, and is now a tourist attraction. Wade's birthplace on Baltimore Street is also still standing and serves as a tourist attraction and the home of a Christian Mission.

General Henry "Harry" Heth was General George Pickett's cousin. Heth's mother was the former Margeret Pickett. It is strange to note that Heth began the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1, 1863 by advancing against Union cavalry and the last attack of the battle was spearheaded by Pickett in what is commonly referred to as "Pickett's Charge" on July 3, 1863.

During the Battle of Gettysburg, Peter Thorn was a member of the 138th PA Volunteers and was serving at Harper's Ferry. In his absence, Elizabeth took over the duties of caring for Evergreen Cemetery. After the battle, Elizabeth, (with little help) buried approximatley 100 soldiers though she was six months pregnant.

Known as "Gettysburg's Unknown Soldier", the photograph was printed in numerous newspapers until it was discovered that the dead man was Sgt. Amos Humiston. The photo was was of his three children. Family and friends in NEw York recognized the picture and ended the mystery of the man's identity.

A former resident of Gettysburg, Wesley Culp had moved to Virginia. While there he made new friends and likely never dreamed he would return to his former home when he joined the Confederate Army. He was killed on July 3, 1863 while attacking a Union position on Culp's Hill, which was owned by his uncle.

His body was never found and its whereabouts has been the subject of much debate ever since.
