Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Some Items, like the Horny Helmet, give bonuses to everyone, but award larger bonuses to certain Classes or Races. Which of the following Races is granted an extra combat bonus from the Horny Helmet?

Answer: Elves

The Horny Helmet is an Item worth 600 Gold Pieces. It counts as Headgear and gives everyone a +1 bonus in combat. Elves, however, receive a +3 bonus. Some other Items that are only usable by Elves include the Bow with Ribbons, Rapier of Unfairness, and Yuppie Water. Both the Rapier of Unfairness (+3 bonus) and the Bow with Ribbons (+4 bonus) occupy Hands.

The Yuppie Water is a One-shot Item that can be played by any player, but it can only be used to help an Elf in combat. It gives a +2 combat bonus to each Elf in the battle.
2. The monster, Lawyers, will not attack any player with which Class?

Answer: Thief

Lawyers is a Level 6 monster worth two Treasures if beaten. According to the card, Lawyers "will not attack a Thief (professional courtesy)". Any Thief who faces the Lawyers can choose to discard two Treasures and draw two new ones. Any players who lose to the Lawyers must let all other players draw one card from their hand and then they must discard any remaining cards.
3. When facing the Wannabe Vampire, which Class can simply chase him away by saying "booga booga"?

Answer: Cleric

A Cleric can choose to fight the Wannabe Vampire, a Level 12 monster, but if the Cleric chooses to chase him away, then that player gets to keep his Treasures, but does not gain a level. The Wannabe Vampire is worth three Treasures when defeated, but the Bad Stuff for losing to him causes a player to lose three levels.
4. The Swiss Army Polearm and the Bad-Ass Bandana are only usable by which Race?

Answer: Humans

A player is considered Human if they do not have any other Race card in play. The Bad-Ass Bandana is an Item worth 400 Gold Pieces. It is considered Headgear and awards a +3 combat bonus. The Swiss Army Polearm is a Big, 2 Hands Item worth 600 Gold Pieces and a +4 bonus.
5. The Undead Horse and 3,872 Orcs may not seem to have much in common, but both monsters are at an advantage when fighting which Race?

Answer: Dwarves

Why the Undead Horse gets a +5 bonus against Dwarves is unknown, but the 3,872 Orcs get their +6 advantage "due to ancient grudges". The Undead Horse is a Level 4 monster worth two Treasures. Losing to the Undead Horse means losing two levels. The 3,872 Orcs are Level 10 and worth three Treasures. Losing to the 3,872 has serious consequences. Players roll a die.

A roll of two or less means death, while a roll of more than two means players lose the same amount of levels as the number shown on the die.
6. The Divine Intervention card is a special card that must be played immediately and grants a level to all players of which Class?

Answer: Cleric

The Divine Intervention card instructs players to play the card immediately. All Clerics gain a level when the card is played. Under normal circumstances, a player can only reach Level 10 and win the game by killing a monster; however, Divine Intervention is one of the few cards that allow a player to reach Level 10 without killing a monster. According to the card, any players who win the game this way "are entitled to mock the other players mercilessly".
7. The Harpies and the Platycore share a trait in that they are resistant to magic, which gives them a bonus when they face players with which Class?

Answer: Wizard

The Harpies, a Level 4 monster, gets +5 against Wizards, while the Platycore, a Level 6, doubles its strength by gaining a +6. Both monsters are worth two Treasures when defeated and their Bad Stuff includes losing two levels. Players losing to the Platycore, however, can choose to discard their whole hand instead of losing two levels.
8. The Limburger and Anchovy Sandwich may not seem too appealing, but, like the Stepladder, it is only usable by which Race?

Answer: Halflings

The Limburger and Anchovy Sandwich is an Item worth 400 Gold Pieces and gives a +3 bonus to Halflings. Additionally, it doesn't count as Armor or Weapon, so a player can have the Limburger and Anchovy Sandwich in play without using a hand for it. The Stepladder is a Big Item worth 400 Gold Pieces and a +3 bonus.
9. There are many Items that are only usable by certain Classes or Races, but there are also cards that are usable by everyone except a certain Class or Race. The Pantyhose of Giant Strength is one such card, and it is not usable by which Class?

Answer: Warrior

The Pantyhose of Giant Strength is an Item worth 600 Gold Pieces. It gives a +3 bonus to players, but it cannot be used by Warriors. Of course, any Warrior who would like to wear them can use a Cheat! card to bypass the rule. The Pantyhose of Giant Strength is not considered Armor or Footgear, which means that it can legally be worn with other Armor or Footgear.
10. Each Class and Race has special abilities that players can use to their advantage. Which Class allows players to backstab another player while that player is in combat?

Answer: Thief

One of the Thief's abilities is Backstabbing. Backstabbing another player gives that player a -2 in combat. A Thief can do this by discarding a card, but this can only be done once per player per combat. If two or more players are in combat, the Thief may backstab each of them.

The Thief's other ability is Theft, which allows the Thief a chance to steal an Item from another player by discarding a card and rolling a die. If the Thief rolls a four or more, then the player has to give the Thief one of their small Items.

However, using this ability is a risk since rolling less than a four means the Thief loses a level.
