Giles Dent did practice witchcraft (he was the force of good) but Lazarus Twisse (the evil entity in human form) manipulated events so that Giles would be burnt to death. Before his death Giles managed to get Ann Hawkins to safety, saving not only her life but the lives of his three unborn sons.

After seeing to her safety Giles managed to preform a spell that would bind the evil to him until: "sons of sons. Three parts of one. In faith, in hope, in truth. One light, united, to strike back dark. And here, my vow. I will not rest until destiny is met. (Then he spilt his blood on the earth) Blood of my blood.

Here I will hold until you come for me, until you loose what must be loosed again on the world. May the gods keep you." With that spell Giles managed to take the spirit of the evil entity with him and hold that entity until it was released.

Caleb, Fox and Gage were all born on the same day and to celebrate this they planned on spending the night camping, alone. At midnight, when it became their birthday they swore an oath and made themselves blood brothers. When their blood fell on Pagan Stone, combined with their oath, they released something evil.

Caleb's family name is Hawkins and his family can trace their family tree back for over three hundred years, mostly centered around Hawkins Hollow. Fox and Gage have spent their entire childhoods in Hawkins Hollow; after becoming adults Caleb and Fox stayed at Hawkins Hollow. Gage travels to different countries researching the supernatural in hopes of finding information on the evil they accidentally released, but he always returns to Hawkins Hollow.

Quinn Black is a professional writer who is attracted to Hawkins Hollow because she wants to write a novel about the supernatural events surrounding the town every seven years. Before coming to Hawkins Hollow Quinn wrote for a magazine called "Detours" and she wrote a couple of books about the supernatural.

When Quinn gets to Hawkins Hallow she discovers that not only is she investigating the supernatural but she is experiencing it.

Frannie Hawkins enjoys entertaining and showing off her home, which she re-decorates on a regular basis. According to Quinn, Frannie's skills will have "Martha Stewart eats your dust". Quinn thoroughly enjoyed the meal with Caleb's parents.

Answer: Hollowed Out

The annual Valentine dance was held at the Bowl-a-Rama, which is owned by Caleb's family and run by Caleb. The dance was enjoyed by most of the town, unfortunately Caleb, Fox, Quinn and Layla had to leave early because the evil entity was manifesting itself at the dance. Only those four could sense the entity and the four of them agreed that the entity was probably putting on a show in order to scare them.

Answer: Seven nights.

Every seven years for seven nights the town goes crazy, people do things that they would not normally do. They commit murder and rape, they also destroy property as well as other acts of violence that under normal circumstances they would not do. During this time period as well as the time leading up to it Caleb, Fox and Gage can see the entity in its various forms and shapes.

When the seven nights are over the people of the town return to normal and some of them don't remember what happened.

Answer: They all went to Caleb's house.

Before the blizzard started Caleb insisted that Quinn, Cybil and Layla pack and stay at his house because the men did not want them to be alone. During their stay at Caleb's the blizzard knocked out the power. Also while all six were gathered at Caleb's the evil entity tried to scare them by attacking Caleb's dog.

They managed to save the dog from drowning in the snow and this attack only made them more determined to banish the evil for good.

Answer: A young boy.

In the novel, Gage had been travelling trying to identify the evil entity. While on his travels he came across a story about a being that mirrored what they were experiencing, it was called a "Tmavy", meaning "the Dark". In the novel the evil could take on many shapes to manifest itself, it could be a little boy, or a dog as well as make itself appear as a slug-like creature.

It could also make things appear to be bleeding, and only the six directly involved could see the manifests. There are also ghosts that appear to the six main characters that were part of the story from when the evil existed three hundred years previously.

Answer: Caleb and Quinn

In the trilogy there are going to be three books, and there aare three couples. This novel was also Caleb's and Quinn's story, and I think the next two novels will pair up the other two women with the two men. Already in this novel you can see the groundwork being laid to pair up Fox with Layla and Gage with Cybil.
