Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The book, "Skybowl", is the third book of a series, but which one of these writers wrote it?

Answer: Melanie Rawn

The last book of the "Dragon Star" series. Even though it is left open for the younger children to follow in their parents' footsteps it seems that Melanie has moved on and will let her readers decide what will happen in that plot line.
2. Another great series has a book with the title, "Sword-Breaker"; are you able to guess who wrote this book?

Answer: Jennifer Roberson

A middle book from the "Sword-Dancer" saga. While not as good as many of her other series, Jennifer Roberson sure makes you relate to the characters and leaves a lasting impression after you are finished reading all of the books.
3. Who was the author of the book, "Otherworld", where virtual reality does not mean you cannot die?

Answer: None of these

This is actually a four-book series by the great Tad Williams. While not one of the writers for "The Golden Key", Tad often has written short stories like many of the other authors of this quiz.
4. Another book from a series is "Deepwood"; who is its author?

Answer: Jennifer Roberson

The second book of the "Karavans" series. An interesting plot that has yet to really blow away what the reader believes is going to happen. I still find it amazing how authors can come up with such wild ideas and make them work.
5. "King's Dragon" sets up a great series for which author?

Answer: Kate Elliott

The first book in the volume of "Crown of Stars". My third favorite fantasy writer outside of Tad Williams and Melanie Rawn, and since Melanie Rawn took such a long period off it was easy to fall into the detail that is given in this series. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to understand the surroundings and thinkings of the story and can get past slow beginnings.
6. "Spellbinder" was released by what author after a very, very long break?

Answer: Melanie Rawn

This book was released after a break from writing by Melanie. Love and witchcraft have been substituted for the final book of the "Exiles" series. Not an altogether bad book, it is just many fans have been waiting so long for "Captal's Tower", this one seems almost bland. We all forgive Melanie though; at least she is back and writing.
7. Which of these authors was the mind behind "Spirit Gate"?

Answer: Kate Elliott

After the seven books in the "Crown of Stars" series it will be awesome to be introduced to new characters and follow them around in their new world. The details and character traits help make her books come alive off the page.
8. Only a true fantasy mind could come up with the world in "Stone of Tears", but who was it?

Answer: None of these

A book by Terry Goodkind. Anyone who loves these writers and the worlds that they create need to pick up any book from the "Sword of Truth" series and spend the next few months locked away in a room. Trust me you will not regret it.
9. A new look on shape-changers is introduced in "Legacy of the Wolf". Who was this creative author?

Answer: Jennifer Roberson

Omnibus two of "Chronicles of the Cheysuli". For a follow up after "The Sword-Dancer Saga" this is pretty good. It follows a family tree and shows how each member of a family must pick their own path. While many series focus on only one group of characters, this fantastic series encompasses generations.
10. For the final question, "The Mageborn Traitor" is the first book of a series written by whom?

Answer: Melanie Rawn

Melanie has once again created a fantastic world of magic.
