2. This is an author of 'The Cursed'. In the setting lies a world that survived the Plague. However, it is not an ordinary plague, the survivors of the illness became crippled only to receive a talent or a curse. The plague made people blind, transformed them into different creatures, but also gave them a variety of magical powers that other people fear. Hint

Question 3 of 5
3. In this seemingly usual medieval world you may be powerful by a noble birth or you can become powerful by recieving an attribute from another person. Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Fear and nightmares are bad companions in this world. Due to a special power called fae, all the fears and nightmares become true creatures in flesh. Only the power of sacrifice can save people from those creatures. Who is the creator?

Answer: C.S. Friedman

This world is part of 'The Coldfire Trilogy'. These novels somewhat border between fantasy and sci-fi because the history of the world is that originally that humans came there from Earth, but the books have typical fantasy setting and plot and usually considered fantasy. All the other Friedman's books are sci-fi and all are excellent.

Answer: Dave Duncan

This is one of most orginal and imaginative stand-alone novels by Dave Duncan. He also wrote a variety of more typical fantasy novels. He is an author of the 'Handful of Men', 'Man of His Word', 'Seventh Sword' trilogy, and the 'Great Game'. He also wrote under a pen name of Ken Hood.
3. In this seemingly usual medieval world you may be powerful by a noble birth or you can become powerful by recieving an attribute from another person. It can be their strength, their sight, or even their mind. Once such attribute is given, the person cannot get it back unless the receiver dies. One little nuance is that the person has to give the attribute willingly and only some agree to become crippled on behalf of another person.

Answer: David Farland

David Farland is the pen name for Dave Wolverton and the series I am describing is the 'Sum of All Men'. He also wrote the 'Mummy Chronicles' under his real name.
4. In these series there are ships made out of wizardwood that are made in the mysterious Rain Wilds River Settlement. After three owners of the ship die on the deck, the ship awakens and becomes alive. It can talk, help to sail itself, and can move faster than any other ship made of wood.

Answer: Robin Hobb

The ships that are made of wizardwood are called liveships and the described series are 'The Liveship Traders' by Robin Hobb. She also wrote 'The Farseer' series and writes other fantasy novels under the name of Megan Lindholm as well.
5. This author created a world with many Shadows. In the centre of the universe is the only real world, Amber, and the rest are its imperfect reflections.

Answer: Roger Zelazny

These were Roger Zelazny's 'Amber' series. This is another example of the world where sci-fi and fantasy are somewhat mixed together. Roger Zelazny was a master at creating novels that did not fit any genre properly. I also highly reccomend books by Roger Zelazny, most of them are very imaginative and interesting novels.
