Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of the following is NOT an important duty of an adult Alien drone in the Alien hive?

Answer: Training humans, etc. to be slaves

Some of the functions performed by adult Aliens include taking care of the hive, providing a formidable defense, and gathering food. Most importantly, Aliens must take care of the Queen and the eggs in order for the hive to survive. There have never been slaves consisting of others species in the hive.
2. A facehugger is the term used to describe the larva stage of the Alien life cycle which resides in the egg until embryo implantation into a host. Does the facehugger generally have the ability to implant numerous embryos in multiple hosts before dying?

Answer: No

The facehugger can only implant one embryo when it is ejected from the egg. Once it implants this embryo into the chest of a host, the facehugger detaches from the host and dies. The general rule to remember: one facehugger for every host! There is an exception in "Alien 3", but this is not the rule.
3. How is a Queen most commonly born?

Answer: The same way an Alien drone is born

A Queen is mainly born the same way as the rest of the hive--a facehugger implants her embryo into a host and she bursts out of the host's chest. In "Alien 3", Ripley discovered that she was carrying a Queen inside her, and it was born just as Ripley killed herself, killing the Queen as well. The Queen was brought back to life when Ripley was cloned in "Alien Resurrection".
4. Which of these do the Aliens really not like and are even afraid of?

Answer: Fire

The Aliens have always been quite wary of fire as it is very effective at destroying them. Even the Queen was afraid of the fire from Ripley's flamethrower in "Aliens". However, they are most certainly not afraid of humans!
5. How many eggs can the Queen lay when she is in her egg-laying mode?

Answer: Thousands

When the Queen is at the stage of life for laying eggs, she usually ends up laying thousands of eggs. When Kane went into the derelict spaceship in "Alien", he saw "thousands of eggs". That's a lot of eggs! Those same eggs were still around in "Aliens" for the colonists to find.
6. One very good reason to be far away from an Alien when you kill it is because it has ____ for blood.

Answer: acid

It has been shown numerous times that the Aliens have extremely corrosive acid for blood. If this stuff hits you full-force, you're a goner! In "Aliens", Drake was killed when he was hit by Alien blood. Also, Hicks was burned in the face when he shot an Alien at close range in the same movie. Facehuggers also have the same blood, as demonstrated in "Alien" when Ash tried to cut the facehugger off of Kane's face.
7. A chestburster is a baby Alien that has just bursted out of its host's chest. What does the chestburster do to aid it in growing to full size?

Answer: Sheds its skin several times

As the chestburster grows to full adult size, it must shed its skin several times, just like a snake. Shedded Alien skin was found by Brett in "Alien" and by an inmate in "Alien 3".
8. How does the facehugger keep its host subdued as it implants the embryo?

Answer: It puts the host in a coma

The facehugger puts the host in a coma by supplying the necessary gas that the host needs to live. The facehugger then deposits a tube into the host and uses this tube to place the embryo into the chest of the host. It wraps its tail about the host's neck in order to keep from being removed. None of this can be done if the host is dead, although the host is doomed to die shortly afterwards.
9. Which of these is a primary weapon used by the adult Alien?

Answer: A second mouth that punctures

The adult Alien has a second mouth/tongue that can shoot out rapidly and puncture anything nearby. The Queen has this weapon as well. Aliens have used this to kill many people, and even used it to kill one of their own members in "Alien Resurrection". This was done so that the unfortunate Alien's blood could melt a hole in the floor and enable escape for the rest.
10. The Queen is generally more intelligent than the other Alien drones.

Answer: True

Because the Queen controls the hive and can communicate with the other Alien drones, she seems to be smarter than the other Aliens. She is also a more formidable opponent than a regular Alien as she has the capacity to plan a strategy and think things through during a fight.
