Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "From Russia with Love", what weapon does the villain Red Grant have concealed in his wristwatch?

Answer: A garroting wire

The film begins with a man who we believe to be James Bond being strangled with the garrote by Grant, but it turns out that the victim is someone wearing a Bond mask, and it is all a training exercise. When Grant finally confronts Bond he ends up being strangled by his own weapon.
2. In the opening sequence of "Goldfinger", what does Bond use to conceal his presence when swimming underwater to a Mexican drugs complex?

Answer: A seagull snorkel

An imitation seagull was attached to a standard snorkel so that it looked like a floating bird. It must have been the fastest swimming seagull of all time. Bond also had a white tuxedo on under his wet suit.
3. In "Diamonds are Forever", what does Bond use to convince Tiffany Case of his assumed identity?

Answer: Imitation fingerprint

Bond makes contact with Case while posing as a diamond smuggler. He leaves the false fingerprint on a glass he uses so that she can check his identity. When the real smuggler turns up and tries to make contact with Case, Bond kills him and uses his body to smuggle the diamonds in.
4. In "The World is Not Enough", what does Bond use to tell him how many people are armed when he enters the casino?

Answer: X-ray glasses

When Bond goes to the casino to gather information he uses the glasses which he got from Q. He has fun noticing that some of the women carry guns in their underwear.
5. In "You Only Live Twice", what does Helga Brandt use to disorientate Bond while she parachutes from the plane and leaves him on a crash course?

Answer: A lipstick bomb

Needless to say Bond manages to land the plane and escape before it explodes. Helga isn't so lucky as Blofeld feeds her to the piranhas for failing to kill Bond.
6. What gadget does Bond ask Q to provide him with in order to pose as Scaramanga, in "The Man With the Golden Gun"?

Answer: An imitation nipple

When Bond travels to Bangkok to meet with a man he thinks has previously hired Scaramanga, he believes that the two had never met and dons the third nipple to pass himself off as the villain. Unfortunately he is wrong and yet again has to fight his way out of a corner.
7. How does Bond kill one of the Soviet agents pursuing him during the downhill ski chase, in "The Spy Who Loved Me"?

Answer: Ski pole gun

There is a trigger concealed in Bond's ski pole, and he turns and fires at his pursuers, killing one of them. He escapes by parachuting off of a cliff.
8. In "Thunderball", which gadget allows Bond to escape from Largo's shark pool?

Answer: Underwater breather

The breather allows Bond to escape via an underwater tunnel to another pool. Sean Connery was almost injured shooting this scene when a partition in the pool failed to contain the sharks.
9. In "Moonraker", what does Bond use to shoot Drax before launching him into space?

Answer: Wrist dart gun

The dart gun concealed in Bond's sleeve had already saved his life earlier in the film, when he used it to shoot out the controls in the centrifuge room where he was being subjected to massive G-forces. His last words to Drax were to tell him to take a giant step for mankind.
10. At the beginning of "Tomorrow Never Dies", what gadget does Bond use to start the confusion at the arms bazaar?

Answer: Cigarette lighter grenade

Bond uses this to create a diversion while he steals the fighter plane carrying the Soviet nuclear torpedoes. The title of this film came about as a typing error, as the suggested title "Tomorrow Never Lies" was faxed to MGM with a 'D' instead of an 'L'.
