In 1938 Barry played Trooper Mulcahy in "Four Men and a Prayer".
He played Cyfartha in "How Green Was My Valley" in 1941.
He played Michaleen Oge Flynn in the 1952 movie "The Quiet Man".
Barry's brother, Arthur Shields, also appeared in Ford's Movies "The Quiet Man" and "Drums Along the Mohawk".
2. Mary O'Donnell, Mary Kate Danaher and Angharad

Answer: Maureen O'Hara

She played Mary O'Donnell in "The Long Gray Line" in 1955.
Maureen played Mary Kate Danaher in "The Quiet Man".
She was Angharad in "How Green Was My Valley".
She was quite an actress. She was in other John Ford movies like "Rio Grande" and "Wings of Eagles", and worked great with John Wayne.

He is best known as Festus Haggen in the TV series "Gunsmoke". Ken was once married to John Ford's daughter. He was also quite a singer and sang with The Tommy Dorsey Band and The Sons of the Pioneers. Ford had him singing in "The Searchers" and "Rio Grande".

In 1962 he was Ransom Stoddard in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance". John Wayne called him Pilgram in most of the movie.
He played Marshal Guthrie McCabe in "Two Rode Together".
He appeared as Wyatt Earp in "Cheyenne Autumn".
In addition to many great movies, Jimmy Stewart also flew many bombing missions in WWII and was a retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General.
7. Sheriff Goodbody, Dad Knowland and Dr. Petry

Answer: Russell Simpson

In "The Horse Soldiers" he played Sheriff Goodbody who was trying to arrest two Confederate deserters, played by Denver Pyle and Strother Martin.
He played Dad Knowland in "They Were Expendable".
He was Dr. Petry in "Drums Along the Mohawk".
I will always remember him as Pa Joad in "The Grapes of Wrath". He was in many movies and TV shows in his long career.

He was Col. John Marlow in "The Horse Soldiers".
He appeared as Capt. Kirby York in "Fort Apache" of 1948.
The three listed movies are my three favorite John Ford/John Wayne movies. John Wayne got his big break in John Ford's "Stagecoach" in 1939 and appeared in many more of John Ford's movies. "The Horse Soldiers" was based on the true events of Col. Benjamin Grierson.

He was Stefanowski in "Mr. Roberts".
He played Lt. Ross Pennell in "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon".
1955 saw him as Dwight D. Eisenhower in "The Long Gray Line".
While a U.S. Navy pharmacist mate in WWII he was transferred from the Pacific Theater back to the U.S. to make movies with U.S Navy Commander John Ford, which was set up by his dad, actor Harry Carey Sr. (much against Jr's will).

He was the bumbling Marshal Link Appleyard in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance".
He played Sgt. Darius Posey in "Two Rode Together" (1961).
He played Buck the stage driver in "Stagecoach".
My generation will always remember him as Wild Bill Hickok's sidekick Jingles in the TV show "The Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok". He also was the star of the kids show "Andy's Gang".
