Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. These two ladies from Little Rock gave new meaning to the term "Little girls".

Answer: Dorothy & Lorelei

From "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" played by the buxom duo of Jane Russell & Marilyn Monroe.
2. These two got off to a rocky start but in the end they proved there really is nothing like this Irving Berlin classic.

Answer: Vicky Parker & Tim Donahue

Marilyn Monroe again this time teamed with Donald O'Connor. Irving Berlin loved the patriotic themes. Notice the gowns worn by Marilyn, Ethel Merman & Mitzi Gaynor at the end are in red, white and blue.
3. These two young lovebirds are going steady but not for long if the girl can't get over her infatuation with an Elvis wanna-be.

Answer: Hugo Peabody & Kim Macafee

"Bye Bye Birdie" with teen heartthrob Bobby Rydell and the sex kitten Ann-Margret in only her third movie role. She made this movie only a year before she would star with the real Elvis in "Viva Las Vegas".
4. This couple seems destined to be together even though he a "louse" and she's a "shrew". Their love is "Vunderbar".

Answer: Fred Graham & Lilli Vanessi

"Kiss Me Kate" is the musical version of "The Taming of the Shrew" with Howard Keel and Kathyrn Grayson in their third movie together. However, Keenan Wynn & James Whitmore as the two thugs outshine almost everyone.
5. These two are the "big star" and the "little nobody" in this classic soggy musical.

Answer: Don Lockwood and Kathy Selden

The one and only Gene Kelly woos Debbie Reynolds in "Singing In the Rain". It's reported that Gene caught pneumonia after the famous dance scene from this movie.
6. This pair have some fantastic adventures in an old car.

Answer: Caractacus Potts & Truly Scrumptious

Dick Van Dyke as the bumbling inventor and Sally Ann Howe as the candy maker's daughter have high adventure in "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang",a movie written by Bond creator Ian Fleming. Gert Frobe as Baron Bomburst had already starred in Ian Fleming's "Goldfinger".
7. He's a drunken miner and she can't make up her mind between two men in this '60s musical.

Answer: Ben Rumson & Elizabeth Woodlling

In "Paint Your Wagon" Lee Marvin plays an excellent drunk and Jean Seberg is his feisty "staked and claimed" wife. It also proved that Clint Eastwood should stick to "Dirty Harry" instead of singing.
8. She's a Mata Hari spy and he's an American pilot in a WWI romance musical.

Answer: Lili Smith & William Larrabee

The glorious Julie Andrews and the boyishly handsome Rock Hudson in a movie directed by Julie's husband Blake Edwards, "Darling Lili". It's unfortunate the critics dished this film.
9. This duo must overcome a meddling little sister and a well meaning partner on their way to holiday love in Vermont.

Answer: Bob Wallace & Betty Haynes

Another Irving Berlin classic. This time Bing Crosby & Rosemary Clooney star in "White Christmas". I personally think Bing and Danny Kaye's version of the "Sisters" number is one of the funniest ever made.
10. Once married, then divorced this couple is never out of "True Love" and gets togther again in the end.

Answer: C.K. Dexter-Haven & Tracy Lord

In a musical remake of the "Philadelphia Story" it's Bing Crosby again this time with the beautiful and gracious Grace Kelly in her last movie before becoming a real life princess, "High Society". The ring Grace wears in the movie is actually her engagement ring from Prince Rainier.
11. This truly odd couple is the toast of "Gay Paree" despite a "small" deception.

Answer: Carroll Todd & Victoria Grant

Another Blake Edwards romp with his wife Julie Andrews and the wonderful Robert Preston in "Victor/Victoria". For the final scene Edwards basically gave Robert Preston free rein and it's worth the whole movie just to watch him have fun.
12. He's a debonair gambler, she's a sheltered girl with a protective mother but "make believe" soon becomes reality when they fall in love.

Answer: Gaylord Ravenal & Magnolia Hawks

In their first pairing, Howard Keel and Kathryn Grayson in "Showboat".
13. Tomboy meets Mountain Man, they fall in love, he strikes it rich and she survives a disaster.

Answer: Molly Tobin & Johnny Brown

Loosely based on the real life Titanic survivor "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" stars Debbie Reynolds and Harve Presnell as her husband. Written by Meredith Willson who also wrote "The Music Man".
14. He's a college professor, she's a genuine oddball who chain smokes. It's not exactly her that he falls in love with... or is it?

Answer: Marc Chabot & Daisy Gamble

"On A Clear Day You Can See Forver" with Yves Montand and Barbra Streisand. La Streisand does double duty as Daisy and Melinda Tentrees with a pretty good British accent.
15. Tommy Marlowe, football hero, needs all the help he can get in French class from brainy Connie Lane in this musical college romp.

Answer: Good News

With the ever perky June Allyson and pre-Kennedy Peter Lawford.
