Razoul was captain of the royal guards and would often find himself at odds with Aladdin, since Aladdin would steal food so he and Abu could survive. Razoul would find pleasure in punishing Aladdin. One example was when Jafar ordered Aladdin to be drowned, because Aladdin wanted to marry Jasmine and Jafar wanted him to be the one that was Jasmine's husband so Jafar could rule Agrabah.

She saw a poor young kid and tried to offer him an apple; however, the merchant saw her steal food and threatened to cut off her hand. Aladdin came to her rescue and pretended they were siblings.

Aladdin's genie, who was only ever called Genie, lived in a lamp. The lamp was originally located in the Cave of Wonders until Aladdin took it. The genie, voiced by Robin Williams, had phenomenal cosmic powers (at least until Aladdin used his final wish to free him). Unlike other people, the genie only had four fingers. The peddler seen at the beginning of the film was originally intended to be the genie, although that idea didn't end up being used.

There were still two hints in the movie related to this. First, he was also voiced by Robin Williams. Second, he and the genie were the only two people with four fingers.

While Aladdin grabbed the lamp, Abu tried to grab a ruby. However, this caused the sentient cave to become upset. With the help of the magic carpet, Aladdin and Abu were able to avoid being killed even if Jafar did cause them to be trapped in the cave. (Having already touched the ruby, there was no further danger with using the magic carpet, even though it was also an object in the cave.)

After Aladdin released him, the genie eventually noticed the magic carpet was with them. He mentioned that they hadn't met for a few millennia. Apart from that remark, it was never mentioned how they knew each other. It might have involved one of Genie's previous masters.

Jafar, disguised as an old man, tricked Aladdin into visiting the Cave of Wonders, so he could get the genie's lamp and hand it over. The plan nearly worked until Abu caused Jafar to drop the lamp. Aladdin became stuck in the cave where he released the genie.

He was able to trick the genie into freeing the two of them, along with Abu and the magic carpet, from the cave. Genie allowed this request without it counting as one of Aladdin's three wishes but told him that there would be no more freebies.

Jafar wanted to marry Jasmine, so he could rule Agrabah; however, Jasmine didn't want to marry Jafar. Therefore, since Jafar was the genie's new master, he decided to make a wish that would cause Jasmine to fall in love with him. Genie pointed out that this was against the rules, but Jafar was insistent that Genie grant his wish.
What happened next was Jasmine pretended to fall in love with Jafar as a way to distract him so that Aladdin could get the genie's lamp.

Iago stole the lamp from Aladdin and gave it to Jafar. For each of his wishes, Jafar wanted to become someone. First, it was sultan of Agrabah. When he learned that the citizens would never bow down to him, Jafar wished to be a sorcerer. Finally, Aladdin told Jafar that the genie would always have more power than him, so Jafar wished to become a genie.

However, all genies must start out in the lamp, and therefore, a genie's lamp magically appeared pulling Jafar into it.

After Aladdin tricked Jafar into becoming a genie, Jafar became trapped in the genie's lamp. Iago tried to fly away, but Jafar grabbed him and pulled him into the lamp over Iago's protests. However, since Iago was not a genie, he could escape the lamp without having someone rub it, which is what he did in the sequel, "The Return of Jafar".
