When Silverchair formed in 1992 they originally known as Innocent Criminals; they had a second guitarist Tobin Finnane who left shortly after forming the group. Silverchair got their big break in 1994 when they won a national demo competition conducted by SBS TV show "Nomad" and ABC radio station, Triple J. Daniel Johns does vocals and guitar, Ben Gillies is on drums and Chris Joannou on bass.

The band got their name from an article that a member was reading about the absence of birds in Tokyo's high density central business district due to pollution and over crowding.

Something For Kate was originally called Fish of the Day; at a suggestion from a venue's booking agent they changed their name. Paul got the name from his dog, Kate. He had left a shopping note with "Something for Kate" on it.

Eskimo Joe's first performance was at the National Campus Band Competition held at the University of Western Australia in 1997. They won the local heat, then proceeded to win the state final in Perth. They won the national final in Sydney and won a place to perform at the Livid Festival in Brisbane and a studio recording session in Sydney.

March 2009 Eskimo Joe performed at the sound relief concert which was held for victims of the Victorian Bushfire Crisis and Queensland floods.

From April 2010 until 2012, Eskimo Joe were named as the number one ticket holder for Fremantle Football Club.
