Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Can't get much earlier then this. What year was Bruce born?

Answer: 1949

2. What is the name of the first known band Bruce played with?

Answer: Castiles

The Castiles were a five piece rock band that played mostly local malls and 'battle of the bands.' Some say he played with the Rogues prior to the Castiles, but I have seen no evidence to prove that fact.

Answer: 'Baby I' and 'That's What You Get'

Recorded by the Castiles, only 5 records were ever made. Only two are known to exist today.
4. In his teen years, Bruce was involved in a Motorcycle accident. As Bruce tells it 'Some rich dude just ran in to me.' While laying in a hospital bed, What did his father have done?

Answer: Have Bruce's hair cut.

5. Bruce received a draft card when he turned 18, but was never drafted by the U.S. Military because?

Answer: Did not pass his physical.

6. Bruce's most successful early band was called Steel Mill. What was the original name of this band?

Answer: Child

The original name, Child, had to be changed because there was already a band by that name.
7. Which of the following was not the name of a Springsteen band?

Answer: A. Bruce and the Big Band

Earth was a Springsteen Band consisting of Bruce Springsteen: guitar, vocals, John Graham: bass, and Michael Burke: drums. They only played one known gig in '69 at the Italian Men's Association, Long Branch, NJ
8. Bruce adds a Saxophone to his band in 1971. His first sax player was?

Answer: Bobby Feigenbaum

Clarence didn't join Bruce until 1972 with the creation of the E Street band. Steve plays guitar. Vini is a drummer. Even if you don't know who Bobby Feigenbaum is, you should have been able to figure this one out.
9. On May 6 Bruce made his Demo recordings for CBS records that led to a contract for 20 albums. What year was it?

Answer: 1972

Mary Queen of Arkansas was the first song recorded on the tapes.
