Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Jimmy Eat World's fourth album that could have featured a 2004 Green Day single from an album of the same name.

Answer: Bleed American Idiot

"Bleed American" was released in July 2001. Following the events of September 11, 2001, the album came to be known as simply "Jimmy Eat World", though still officially called "Bleed American". The title track on the album was also renamed "Salt Sweat Sugar".

"American Idiot" was the first single released off of Green Day's 2004 album "American Idiot". The "American Idiot" album is a rock opera of sorts - it follows the story of the "Jesus of Suburbia" and his experience with drugs, girls and his subsequent downfall.
2. A 1987 George Michael tune that could have been recorded by Johnny Rotten's band.

Answer: I Want Your Sex Pistols

"I Want Your Sex" was quite the controversial song in the late '80s. It was banned on many radio stations, was only played on late night MTV, and Casey Kasem refused to ever announce the title on air. Despite all that, it still managed to peak at number two on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart.

The Sex Pistols were an English punk rock band in the 1970s. Other members included Steve Jones, Paul Cook, and Sid Vicious.
3. A 2006 Justin Timberlake song, which won a Grammy in 2007, that could have been included on a 1980 AC/DC album.

Answer: Sexy Back in Black

"SexyBack" was included on the 2006 JT album "FutureSex/LoveSounds". It won the Grammy for Best Dance Recording and was the longest-running number one single of 2006 on the Hot 100 Chart (with seven weeks at the top).

"Back in Black" was AC/DC's seventh studio album and was the first one recorded without Bon Scott, who had died just months before it was released. Brian Johnson sang lead vocals for this album.
4. A potent 1973 Eagles' song that could have been featured in "Fiddler on the Roof".

Answer: Tequila Sunrise Sunset

"Tequila Sunrise" was written by Don Henley and Glenn Frey, and was the first single released from the album "Desperado".

The film version of "Fiddler on the Roof" was released in 1971 and tells the story of Tevye, a Jewish man, attempting to maintain his religious traditions as his five daughters move away from traditional customs, especially in their choices of husbands. "Sunrise, Sunset" is sung mainly by Tevye and his wife, and is about having to let go of their children.
5. A Canadian rock band famed for being "Born on a Pirate Ship" and wanting to be millionaires who could have sung a 1979 Kool and the Gang hit.

Answer: Barenaked Ladies Night

BNL formed in Scarborough, Ontario, just outside of Toronto, in 1988. "Born on a Pirate Ship" was their third studio album and was released in 1996. It included the singles "Shoe Box" and "The Old Apartment". Their most widely known song is "If I Had $1,000,000" from the 1992 album "Gordon".

"Ladies' Night" was from the 1979 Kool and the Gang album of the same name. It reached as high as number eight on US charts.
6. What do you get when you combine Pamela Anderson's ex-husband Bob Ritchie's stage name with what is probably the most popular song by the Clash?

"Rock the Casbah" is from The Clash's 1982 album "Combat Rock" and was their only top ten hit in the United States. The song was supposedly inspired by the ban on rock music in Iran, under the rule of Ayatollah Khomeini.
7. Nick Gilder's 1978 number one hit combined with the third single released from U2's "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb".

Answer: Hot Child in the City of Blinding Lights

"Hot Child in the City", from Gilder's second solo album "City Nights", brought Gilder chart success in the United States. The song won two Canadian Juno awards: Best Selling Single, and Most Promising Male Vocalist.

According to Bono, "City of Blinding Lights" is set in New York City, looking out at Brooklyn. The song was a number one hit in Portugal and Spain, number two in the UK and Canada, but only number 40 in the US.
8. Serj Tankian and his band could have sung this 1982 Men At Work song.

They received mainstream success in 2003 with the release of the album "Transatlanticism" and were greatly aided by exposure on television shows such as "The O.C." and "Six Feet Under". Frontman Ben Gibbard also sings under the name The Postal Service with Jimmy Tamborello.
10. Billy Joel's first (and probably most well-known) hit paired with a 1992 R.E.M. tune.

Answer: Piano Man on the Moon
