Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "What a bright time, it's the right time"

Answer: Jingle Bell Rock

With the legendary Hank "Sugarfoot" Garland striking the opening notes on guitar and the Anita Kerr Singers providing the backup vocals, the Bobby Helms recording of "Jingle Bell Rock" is easily the most popular and successful version of this oft-recorded classic!
2. "Later we'll have some pumpkin pie and we'll do some caroling"

Answer: Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree

Brenda Lee's version of this classic, composed by Johnny Marks, has sold over 25 million copies as of 2016. She was only thirteen when she recorded it!
3. "Out of all the reindeer you know you're the mastermind"

Answer: Run Rudolph Run

Chuck Berry's signature guitar riff on "Run Rudolph Run" has led many to believe he composed the song, but it was actually co-written by Johnny Marks and Marvin Brodie. Marks also composed "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" so the legend of Rudolph continued with this song.
4. "Then one foggy Christmas Eve, Santa came to say"

Answer: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

The legend of Rudolph began from a story commissioned by the Montgomery Ward Company. It was written by Johnny Marks' brother-in-law Robert May. Marks decided to turn the story into a song and the rest, as they say, is history.
5. "Children laughing, people passing meeting smile after smile"

Answer: Silver Bells

"Silver Bells" was composed by Jay Livingston and Ray Evans. In the original lyric one of the lines was "Hear the snow crunch see the kids bunch this is Santa's big day", but Livingston and Evans changed the lyric to "this is Santa's big scene" because it sounded less obvious and more unique.
6. "Somebody waits for you, kiss her once for me"

Answer: A Holly Jolly Christmas

Yet another Johnny Marks composition, "A Holly Jolly Christmas" was written in 1962. Burl Ives sang it in the TV special "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer" in 1964 and later recorded it for the soundtrack of the show which has aired every year since.
7. "It's the hap, happiest season of all"

Answer: It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year

"It's The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" was written by Edward Pola and George Wyle in 1963. Andy Wllliams recorded it later that same year for his first Christmas album.
8. "Giddy-up, giddy-up, giddy-up let's go"

Answer: Sleigh Ride

"Sleigh Ride" began as an instrumental piece composed by Leroy Anderson in 1948. Lyrics were added in 1950 by Michael Parish.
9. "A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight"

Answer: Winter Wonderland

As of 2016, over 200 different artists and groups have recorded "Winter Wonderland". It was written by Felix Bernard and Richard Smith.
10. "Where the tree tops glisten and children listen"

Answer: White Christmas

Bing Crosby recorded and sang "White Christmas" for the 1942 movie "Holiday Inn". At first, another song from that movie, "Be Careful, It's My Heart", was more popular. But by October of that year "White Christmas" topped the "Your Hit Parade" chart and remained there well into 1943.
