Answer: George Washington

George Washington was born 22 February 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. On 30 April, 1789, he was inaugurated as the first President of the USA, with John Adams as his Vice-President. Lord Cornwallis had surrendered to George Washington at Yorktown, Virginia, in 1781, which ended the American War of Independence. Alas George died on 14 December, 1799, of a throat infection, at his home in Mount Vernon, Virginia.
2. Russell Grant and Hugh Hefner

Answer: Hugh Grant

Hugh Grant was born 9 September, 1960, in London, England. He played the character of Charles in 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' (1994). Hugh courted glamorous Liz Hurley for 13 years and mutually went their separate ways, in May 2000.
3. Gabriel Byrne and Peter Falk.

Henry James (1843-1916) was an author who was born in New York City, USA. He spent his last forty years in England, where he settled in London, then Rye, in Sussex. In 1915 he became a British subject. His famous novels include 'Washington Square' (1880), 'The Bostonians' (1886) and 'The Ambassadors' (1903) and is accredited as a psychological novelist.
6. Francis Matthews and Dick York

Dick Francis was born 31 October, 1920, in Tenby, Wales. He was a crime novelist who set his stories in the horse racing world. During 1953-1954 he became a champion jockey. He rode for Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, between 1953-1957. A serious fall forced him to retire.

His first book, 'The Sport of Queens' (1957), was an autobiography. In 1962, his first thriller, 'Dead Cert', was published. This was the first of over forty bestsellers. Alas, in February 2010, he died of natural causes at his home, on Grand Cayman, in the Caribbean.
7. Montgomery Clift and Elizabeth Taylor (Bewitched)

Elizabeth Montgomery played the character of Samantha Stephens in the Situation Comedy of 'Bewitched'. Darrin Stephens, (Dick York), her husband, disapproved of her being a witch, and Endora (Agnes Moorehead), opposed her new son-in-law. She constantly cast spells on him. Dick York suffered, in real life, from constant back trouble, and was replaced by Dick Sargent.

The 1942 movie, 'I Married a Witch', with Fredric March and Veronica Lake, was said to be the inspiration for this American comedy.
8. Les Paul and Nicholas Monsarrat. (Dancing with the Captain)

Paul Nicholas (Paul Beuselinck) is both an actor and a singer. In 1976 he was in the British singles chart, 'Dancing With The Captain' at 'Grandma's Party'. As an actor he played Vince Pinner in the Situation Comedy 'Just Good Friends'.
9. Richie Cunningham and Lionel Bart (Had 'Endless Love' with Diana Ross)

Lionel Richie was born 20 June, 1949, in Alabama, USA. After fronting 'The Commodores' for over ten years, he decided to go solo, in the early 1980s. He 'Truly' became a phenomenon and had his fans 'Dancing On The Ceiling', 'All Night Long'. I'm sure he was 'Stuck On You' too.

Christopher Ryan played the character of Mike in 'The Young Ones'. He was the normal, sensible one of the four students, who shared a dilapidated house, and lived in squalor.
