Leyna Nguyen was born in Dong Ha, South Vietnam, in 1969. She immigrated to the United States in 1975, and studied at Missouri's Webster University. Since then, Nguyen has established a respectable career in the media, having worked for stations like WRDW-TV, KCBS-TV, KCAL-TV (all CBS affiliates) and KCRA (an NBC affiliate.) She has received several honors and awards, including the title of "Miss Asia" and numerous Emmy Awards and nominations, such as a win for her work as host in "Heal the Bay."

Nam Le was born in 1978 in Vietnam, but he arrived to Australia with his parents as a boat refugee (a term used to describe Vietnamese that fled their home country after the Vietnam War.) He then studied at the University of Melbourne, and later completed a Masters in Creative Writing in the United States.

In 2008, publishing house Alfred A. Knopf published his critically acclaimed short stories collection "The Boat", featuring characters in different parts of the world.

Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969) was one of the most important political figures of Vietnam's history. He became the first president of the newly declared Democratic Republic of Vietnam in September of 1945, after Japanese emperor Bao Dai abdicated.

He died on September 2, 1969, the same day the Republic was founded. The city of Saigon was re-named Ho Chi Minh City in 1976 in commemoration of him.

Cung Le was born in South Vietnam in 1972, but left for California with his mother when he was young, right after the Fall of Saigon during the Vietnam War. He started learning martial arts when he was very young. At the time of his retirement (2015,) Le ended undefeated in his Sanshou kickboxing career by 17-0.

He also pursued a mixed martial arts career in the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship.) Le has also had acting roles in several productions, mostly as a martial arts performer, such as "Fighting", "Tekken" and "NCIS: Los Angeles", where he appeared as himself.

He went on NASA's STS-50 mission on the Columbia space shuttle, becoming the first Vietnamese-American to do so. He has also served as NASA's Director of the Physical Sciences Research Division.

Le Duc Tho, born in 1911, was a key figure in Vietnam's Communist Party. In fact, he was one of the founders of the Indochinese Communist Party. He was a member of the Politburo (the highest authority within the Communist Party of Vietnam) from 1955 to 1986. From 1976 to 1980, he served as Head of the Central Organizing Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

He was instrumental in negotiating the Paris Peace Accords, which led to him being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize with Henry Kissinger. Tho declined, stating that the South Vietnamese and American governments had violated the agreements, and he would not be able to accept the prize until real peace was restored in Vietnam.

The gang was responsible for many illegal activities in New York City, mainly selling counterfeit watches and murdering members of rival gangs. In 1991, Thai was arrested and convicted on multiple counts, including racketeering and conspiracy to commit murder.
