Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who was Rebekah's brother?

Answer: Laban

Laban was also Rachel's father. He tricked Jacob into working an extra seven years in order to marry Rachel. After the first seven years, Jacob married Rachel's sister, Leah. You can read about this in Genesis 29.
2. According to Joshua 10:3 (KJV), who was king of Lachish?

Answer: Japhia

Lachish was considered the most important city in the southern kingdom of Judah. It is now known as Tel Lachish and is a national park in Israel.
3. When told how much land they (the Israelites) would get, what country is mentioned in Joshua 1:4 (KJV)?

Answer: Lebanon

Lebanon borders Israel on the south. This verse and the three preceding it take place after Moses had died. God was allowing the Israelites into the promised land.
4. In Numbers 11:5 (KJV), what L-word is mentioned?

Answer: leeks

Leeks belong in the same family as onion and garlic. They are green and white. Leeks are good for cardiovascular support. Leeks are one of the foods mentioned that the Hebrews ate in Egypt. They were complaining about only having manna to eat in the wilderness.
5. How many left handed soldiers does it say there were in Judges 20:16, according to the King James Version?

Answer: 700

It says, "everyone could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss." The only left handed person mentioned by name is Ehud in Joshua 3:15.
6. What was the name of the demons possessing the man according to Mark 5:9 (KJV)?

Answer: Legion

They were called Legion because there were many. They asked Jesus to send them to the pigs, so they left the man's body and entered the pigs.
7. If you do what to poor people you should not lay on them a usury, according to Exodus 22:25 (KJV)?

Answer: lend money

A usury is a high interest on the money lent. This law was to protect the poor people from being exploited.
8. What name is given to Jesus in Revelation 5:5 (KJV)?

Answer: Lion of the Tribe of Judah

He is also called the Root of David, but that starts with R. I've always found it interesting how he is called a Lion but also a Lamb (John 1:36 for example). The Lion is so powerful, whereas the Lamb is meek. Likewise, Jesus is all powerful but at the same time he is meek.
9. What strange thing did John the Baptist eat?

Answer: locusts

You can find this in Mark 1:6 (KJV). It says he dressed in camels' hair. He also ate honey.
10. What kind of church did God say he would "spew out of his mouth" in Revelation 3:16 (KJV)?

Answer: lukewarm

According to one common interpretation of this verse, a lukewarm church is one that is apathetic. It does not improve, nor get worse. It just stays the same all the time.
