The 8th seeded Badgers knocked off the 9th seeded Fresno State Bulldogs 66-56 behind Jon Bryant's four second half three-pointers from the exact same spot on the court. Then, they upset the top seeded Arizona Wildcats 66-59. In the Sweet 16, they used a pounding defense to upset the fourth seeded LSU Tigers 61-48.

In the Elite 8, they beat their conference rival Purdue Boilermakers 64-60 to earn their first Final Four trip since their National Championship back in 1941.
