Wigan made history by becoming the first team in England to win the FA Cup and become relegated from the top flight in the same season.

Manchester United were favourites to beat Crystal Palace in the 2016 final, but with the score still at 0-0 when Jason Puncheon scored for Palace after 78 minutes. Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew was caught on camera dancing, apparently believing his side would go on to win the cup. United had other ideas, however, and Juan Mata scored the equaliser not long after. United went on to win 2-1 after extra-time thanks to Jesse Lingard.
This was United's first major trophy since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson in 2013, and their first FA Cup win since 2004.

The 2017 FA Cup final was played on 27 May at Wembley Stadium in London. Arsenal were appearing in their third FA Cup final in four years, having won the previous two in 2014 and 2015. Their opponents, Chelsea, were favourites to win the cup, having already won the English Premiership that season. Arsenal held out, however, and won the match 2-1.
