Kristy and Kris Wirtz were Canada's national pairs champions for a long time. They are married now, and Triston is Kris's daughter in every way but biologically. Her father is actually Jason Turner, who was skating with Jamie Salé at the time. Kristy and Kris recently had another daughter, named Brianna.

Anton Sikharulidze's first partner was Maria Petrova. They had some success internationally, but when his then-girlfriend Elena Berezhnaya suffered a near fatal accident where her partner's skate blade cut her head open and she had to have emergency brain surgery, he left Maria to be with Elena.

When she recovered, they began skating together and eventually won the 2002 Olympics. Maria now skates with Alexei Tikhonov.
