Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In the mid 50s TV series "The Adventures of Robin Hood", there was an establishment that offered sleep accommodations and served beer and wine and where many meetings took place. What was the colorful porcine name to this establishment?

Answer: The Blue Boar Inn

Much imbibing took place at the Inn. It may be why Robin's men were called 'Merry' (if the King's Forest Rangers weren't around). Other scene sets used in the series were Robin's Camp, The Sheriff's Castle, Maid Marion's Manor and various village sets. Before the action was shown inside the Inn, a shot of the establishment's sign was shown so you knew which stone walled structure was being depicted.

The early episodes' major cast and their roles: Richard Greene (Robin Hood), Alan Wheatley (Sheriff of Nottingham), Bernadette O'Farrell (Maid Marion), Alexander Gauge (Friar Tuck), Archie Duncan & Rufus Cruikshank (Little John - Duncan had to be replaced for half a season while he recovered from injuries sustained stopping a runaway horse and carriage on the set that was about to hit some children.

The cart ran him over. He got the Queen's Commendation for Bravery Award for his heroism)
