Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "What ever happened to predictability? The milkman, the paperboy, evening TV."

Answer: Full House

This family sitcom was on the air from 1987-1995. A great show starring Bob Saget as a morning talk show host trying to raise his three daughters. John Stamos also stars.
2. "Show me that smile again. Don't waste another minute on your crying."

Answer: Growing Pains

This show starred Alan Thicke, Dr. Jason Seaver, and Joanna Kerns, Maggie Seaver. Thicke played a father with a home business and Kerns played their mother. She was a journalist.
3. "Hey! Here they come with a rum-tee tum they're having a toy parade. A tin giraffe with a fife and drum is leading the kewpie parade."

Answer: Leave it to Beaver

This was a great family sitcom about a perfect family, the Cleavers, and their perfect life. It was set in the late 50's. It was the first television program to show a toilet.
4. "What would you do if I sang out of tune? Would you stand up and walk out on me? Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song. I will try not to sing out of key."

Answer: Wonder Years

This television show starred Fred Savage as Kevin Arnold, a grown man narrating his adolescence and the interesting things he went through growing up. This show was inspired by the movie 'A Christmas Story.'
5. "Come and knock on our door."

Answer: Three's Company

This was one of my favorite John Ritter shows. John Ritter was a comedic genius. Did you know Billy Crystal originally auditioned for the role of Jack Tripper?
6. "Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got."

Answer: Cheers

A sitcom about the lives of people that work or go to this Boston bar became a huge hit. In its first season, it was on the verge of being cancelled. The show replied by going on for 11 seasons and winning 28 Emmys and being nominated for an unprecedented 88.
7. "It's a rare condition, this day and age, to read any good news on the newspaper page."

Answer: Family Matters

A great family sitcom, that I grew up watching. Urkel, Jaleel White, is one of the most recognizable television characters of all time. Originally, Urkel was only to appear in one episode. His reaction was so incredible that he was made into a permanent character.
8. "Come and listen to a story about a man named Jed."

Answer: The Beverly Hillbillies

Buddy Ebsen plays Jed, family man turned rich man. In its first three weeks of being on the air, the show rose to number one. That is a feat yet to be beaten.
9. "Life goes on, and so do we. Just how we do it is no mystery."

Answer: Empty Nest

Richard Mulligan, Dr. Harry Weston, plays a widowed pediatrician living in Miami with his two daughters. My favorite character was the next door neighbor, Charley Dietz, played by David Leisure.
10. "Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out."

Answer: Welcome Back Kotter

This show was a jumping off point for John Travolta. Although it only lasted four years, it turned him into a star and he has never looked back.
