Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What was the original name of the series?

Answer: The Seinfeld Chronicles

The pilot episode in the summer of 1989 was called "The Seinfeld Chronicles". When the series started the following spring, the name became "Seinfeld".
2. Jerry originally refers to Kramer by what name?

Answer: Kessler

Based on the name he saw on the buzzer for Kramer's apartment. At the time Kenny Kramer, Larry David's real-life friend who the character is based on, had not yet given permission to use his name on the show.
3. Who is Elaine trying to fool when she asks Kramer to pretend to be her boyfriend?

Answer: her shrink

In an episode from the fourth season, called "The Watch".
4. Who did Kramer accidentally punch at a baseball fantasy camp?

Answer: Mickey Mantle

We don't actually see Mickey Mantle in the episode; rather, Kramer tells about the incident. In other episodes, however, we do see real-life ballplayers from time to time. Some examples are Keith Hernandez, Paul O'Neill, and Danny Tartabul.
5. Why does Kramer decide to eat only fresh foods?

Answer: he'd had a kidney stone

6. In 'The Switch' episode, what is it that Jerry wants to switch?

Answer: girlfriends

His girlfriend never laughs, so he wants to date her roommate, 'the hardest switch of all'. George comes up with the plan of creating a menage a trois to implement the switch, but (of course) this plan backfires. It is in this episode that we find out that Kramer's first name is Cosmo.
7. Who does Jerry end up sitting beside at the Super Bowl?

Answer: Newman

8. In 'The Jimmy' episode, what does Jerry discover in his dentist's waiting room?

Answer: 'Penthouse' magazine

Jerry then imagines that the dentist and his hygienist may have lived out a fantasy while he was in the chair. This is also the episode in which Mel Torme appeared as himself.
9. Why did the zoo demand an apology from Kramer?

Answer: He threw a banana peel back at a chimpanzee.

It caused the chimp to become depressed, hence the zoo's insistence on an apology.
10. In 'The Abstinence' episode, which does George NOT do with the energy he gains from giving up sex?

Answer: plan an around-the-world trip

George becomes a highly efficient bundle of energy, similar to the hilarious "but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night" commercials.
