The group trys to remove the walker from the water so that the water is not contaminated, but the plan backfires. They almost drop Glenn into the well when lowering down to rope the walker. Then the walker splits in half coming out and half of the body falls into the well. I guess they won't be drinking the water from that well.

Daryl is searching for Sophia alone when he finds an abandoned farmhouse. He believes that someone small may have slept in a cabinet inside the house. He finds a pillow, blanket, and an empty can of food. He finds the Cherokee rose outside the farmhouse. He tells Carol that he believes the rose was grown for Sophia.

Daryl believes that Sophia is still alive and plans to take the doll back to camp to prove that she is still out there. He also uses his crossbow to shoot a squirrel, which he eats raw later in the episode.

Daryl is knocked unconscious and an arrow goes through his side as he rolls down the waterfall. Daryl has a vision of Merle, which tells him to stop being a baby and get up. Daryl wakes up to a walker chewing on his boot. He kills the walker and shoots another walker with the arrow he pulls out of his side.

Daryl is badly injured and covered in dirt and blood when he stumbles into camp. From a distance the group thinks that he is a walker. The men run out to Daryl ready to attack and kill. Andrea is keeping watch on top of the RV and does not recognize Daryl when she shoots him.

The bullet grazes Daryl's head but does not kill him. They have to carry an unconscious Daryl to the house for medical attention.

Daryl goes a little crazy after the vision of Merle. Merle accuses him of going soft and caring for people that left him for dead. Daryl puts the ears on a string and ties it around his neck. Rick removes the ears from around Daryl's neck while they are carrying him to the house. Rick doesn't want Hershel to know about the ears.

Carol wants to cook in a real kitchen and suggests that the women make dinner for their hosts. Carol asks Lori to represent the group and ask if it would be okay to cook indoors. The two groups come together for a good meal, Thanksgiving anyone?

Glenn passes Maggie a note under the table at dinner asking her to meet him in the barn later in the evening. Maggie cannot read it right away because her dad, Hershel, is watching her. The relationship between Maggie and Glenn is a secret, the only people who know are Maggie, Glenn, and Dale. Glenn tells Dale by accident when he is seeking advice about women. Maggie opens the note while cleaning and runs to stop Glenn from entering the barn of walkers.

She begs Glenn to keep the secret from the rest of the group.
