I Need Help Matching The Character to the Game Quiz
I don't know much about video games, but I have new friends who do. In order to take part in their conversations, I need help figuring out which character is from which game. Once I figure these out, I will be able to talk with my new friends.

The first "Tomb Raider" game came out in 1994. The game has heroine Lara Croft exploring dangerous archeological sites and tombs for treasures. She is pitted against enemies while she tries to avoid dangers and solve various puzzles. There have been sequels to the game well into the 21st century.
It has been a very popular video game and even spawned a movie starring Angelina Jolie in the title role.
2. The Legend of Zelda
Answer: Link
"The Legend of Zelda" was first released in 1986. The main male character in the game is Link. He helps Princess Zelda fight an evil warlord in order to defend the magical land of Hyrule. "The Legend of Zelda" has a number of components in the game for players including solving puzzles, action scenes, fighting in battles, and exploring new lands.
This is an extremely popular video game that has resulted in multiple follow up games that were released well into the 21st century.
3. Mortal Kombat
Answer: Scorpion
"Mortal Kombat" is a fighting game that was originally published in 1992. There are seven playable characters in the game including Scorpion. Players choose one of the characters who must fight all others in a martial arts tournament that is designed to stop evil forces from taking over the realm in which the game is based. Scorpion is an un-dead ninja who was murdered before the tournament.
He comes back to avenge his death.
4. Metal Gear Solid
Answer: Solid Snake
"Metal Gear Solid" was released in 1998. Solid Snake is the main character in this game who must sneak around a nuclear facility that is being held by terrorists. He must find and release hostages that are being held by the bad guys. He must also stop the terrorists from launching a nuclear attack.
There have been some sequels and upgrades of the original "Metal Gear Solid" released over the years.
5. System Shock
Answer: SHODAN
The bad guy in "System Shock" is actually SHODAN, a wicked artificial intelligence. SHODAN is trying to control a space station. Apparently there is a laser aboard the station that is being programmed to destroy Earth one city at a time. The player must destroy the laser before this can happen.
There is also a deadly virus on board the space station that the player must destroy. The player also has to deal with destroying SHODAN in cyberspace while also destroying the space station.
6. Final Fantasy VII
Answer: Sephiroth
Sephiroth is a villain that appears in "Final Fantasy VII". He is injected with alien cells while still in utero. He does not realize this early on, dedicating his early life to protecting his home world. However, when he finds out about his mixed blood, he believes he can take over his planet by becoming a god.
He engages in many battles in an attempt to do that before finally being defeated.
7. Borderlands
Answer: Lilith
"Borderlands" was first released in 2009. This game is set in 2864 AD. It has players choose one of four characters, with the alien Lilith being a Siren. Other characters include Brick, a Berserker, Mordeci, a Hunter, and Roland, a Soldier. Each character has special abilities that are designed to help them fight off enemies as they go on a mission.
The mission sees them trying to find a vault on the planet Pandora that supposedly contains some sort of a treasure that was left by the previous civilization that inhabited the planet.
It can only be opened once every 200 years. They must find the pieces of the vault key before it is too late. There have been numbered follow up games to the original "Borderlands" game.
8. Mario Brothers franchise

The original "Mario Bros." game was released in 1983. However, Princess Peach didn't appear until a follow up game "Super Mario Bros." in 1985. The Mario games have brothers Mario and Luigi, Italian-American plumbers, killing evil creatures that come out of the drains.
In the 1985 game, an archenemy named Bowser started appearing in the games. In that game, he captures Princess Peach, ruler of the kingdom of Toadstool. Mario must come to her rescue. In subsequent games, she became a playable character.
9. Red Dead Redemption
Answer: John Marston
"Red Dead Redemption" is the second game in the "Red Dead" series. This action/adventure game was released in 2010. It follows John Marston in the early part of the 20th century, at the end of the old west. His family has been kidnapped by the US government and is being held until he can track down members of his former gang.
He travels around the southwestern US and northern Mexico on a number of adventures as he tries to track them down to get his family back.
10. The Elder Scrolls: Arena
Answer: Ria
"The Elder Scrolls: Arena" is the first game in the "Elder Scrolls" series. Is was released in 1994. The game takes place on the continent of Tamriel. The Emperor is murdered and his murderer disguises himself as the Emperor to take the throne. Ria witnesses the deception, but is killed by the evil one who killed the Emperor.
She is able to use her magic to guide the player out of the dungeons and on a quest to find the murderer.
