Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. New to the franchise, if Chloe ever had a time where she wasn't getting her way easily, this mechanic could be used to verbally destroy her opposition and get what she wanted. What is this mechanic called?

Answer: Backtalk

The Backtalk mechanic requires the player to listen to what the opposition says, then correctly pick one of three dialogue options in response. For this, with one exception, two of the three options will be correct. In most of these Backtalks, if the player guesses incorrectly twice before guessing correctly three times, they will lose the Backtalk.

When Backtalking Victoria Chase in chapter two, however, the player is given a little more leeway as they'd have to lose three times instead of two to fail the encounter.
2. Blackwell Academy plans to show "The Tempest", put on by the school's theater department. A character who evidently seems to have a bit too much of a crush on Chloe asks her to go to the production. Who does this?

Answer: Eliot

Whether the player has Chloe accept or reject Eliot doesn't particularly alter the course of events within the game. Later on, Chloe can discover that Eliot has not only written dark poems about her, but has also seemed to try and find information about her online, having Googled her full name a total of six separate times. Later, he stalks her and follows her into the Amber house, trapping her inside as he tries to basically force her to like him.
3. In her bedroom, as well as her school locker, Chloe has two separate storages of "secret stash." What encompasses this secret stash?

Answer: Marijuana

Chloe is a chronic smoker, and though she isn't averse to drinking, she clearly prefers marijuana products to just about anything else, going as far to rack up a $250 debt with a local drug dealer to satisfy this craving.
4. Early in the game, Chloe can potentially steal $300 from a merchant at a concert. There are a few different things she can do with this money. Which of the following is one of them?

Answer: Purchase drugs

At the time, Chloe is in a $250 debt to Frank for having bought marijuana from him. Before he will give her anymore, he demands that this debt be paid off first- this can be done right then and there, as he is at the same concert she is at. With the excess $50, she then purchases a bag of marijuana off of him as well.

Depending on player choice, Chloe could also give the money to her struggling mother or she could hold onto it for events which take place later in the game.
5. While Chloe can go by a number of different nicknames, depending on player choice, Steph Gingrich may begin calling her "Callamastia". What does the player have to have Chloe do to get this to happen?

Answer: Play a tabletop game with Steph

Steph is what passes for something of a Dungeon Master to the game's version of 'Dungeons & Dragons'. She invites Chloe to play with her and Mikey in a game before school. If Chloe accepts, she can potentially get a character and end up naming the character Callamastia, prompting Steph to call her by that name a couple times in the near future of the game.
6. At the end of Episode One, a large forest fire starts which is never actually put out through the events of this game. It doesn't directly hinder the characters at any point, but it is a recurring background theme that can cause background characters noticeable emotional distress. Who or what causes this fire?

Answer: Rachel Amber

After Rachel tells Chloe that she just watched her Dad cheat on her mother, Rachel will take out a picture of her father, borrow a lighter from Chloe, burn the picture, toss it in a garbage can, then violently kick the can towards one of the forest's trees. This causes the tree to catch fire and set off a chain reaction which basically burns the entire forest.
7. A large forest fire blocks many roads throughout Arcadia Bay and prevents a few school performers in "The Tempest" from participating. This devastates the production's director Mr Keaton, but between him and Rachel's persistence, they figure out a way to continue on with the show. How do they do it?

Answer: Convince Chloe to participate

The humorous dialogue line between Mr Keaton and Chloe goes like this:

"My dear, what if I told you that the fate of this production rests on your slender shoulders?"

"I'd say you're completely screwed"

Mr Keaton alone fails to convince Chloe, but her good pal Rachel pokes and prods and finally gets her on board.
8. James Amber turns out to be a pathological liar. He lies to Rachel a lot about her biological mother, Sera. When Chloe breaks into his office later in the story, she discovers that James has done something horrifying with Sera that he never told anyone about. What has he done?

Answer: Paid a local gang to kill Sera

As it turns out, James Amber has been deliberately preventing Sera from making any sort of contact with Rachel at all despite Sera's efforts. Sera even hired an attorney to send a cease & desist letter to him, threatening to sue James if he continued to deny her contact with Rachel. Facing legal troubles, James purchased a burner phone and made contact with a local gang leader, Damon Merrick, and paid him a lot of money to kidnap and eventually kill Sera completely. Chloe manages to intervene and prevents him from killing Sera as a result of finding this out.
9. Towards the end of the game, having dealt with James Amber's wrongdoings, Chloe is faced with an enormously impactful decision as she visits Rachel at the hospital that will largely alter the tail end of the game based on what the player decides. What is the decision to be made here?

Answer: Whether or not to tell Rachel what her Dad did

After making this decision, the scene goes quiet as the player's decision unravels. If the player decides to have Rachel be told the truth, she is seen shocked and then visibly animate with her father as well as distraught and in tears over what he did. If the player decides to shield her from the truth, this doesn't happen and Rachel is eventually reunited with Sera at the end of the game.
10. Regardless of player decision, at the very end of the game, something very wrong happens to Rachel. As Chloe calls Rachel's phone, a cutscene shows Rachel's phone ringing with "18 missed calls from Chloe Price" displayed on it after the call fails. What happens to Rachel here?

Answer: She is killed

As we learn from "Life is Strange", this is the scene in which Rachel has been kidnapped by Mr Jefferson, drugged, brought to "The Dark Room" and eventually killed via lethal injection. This is the last scene the game shows before the end of the game, and as "Before the Storm" is a prequel, this seems to give way to the events of the follow up game itself.
