One of the most popular video game series of all time, "Super Mario" was first launched in 1985. When played by two players, the titular character is joined by his brother, Luigi. The premise of the games is relatively straightforward. Mario, or Luigi as the case may be, have to rescue Princess Peach from the clutches of Bowser. Along the way, the players encounter elements like the magic mushroom, which helps to increase the character's size, 1-Ups, which are an extra life and the fire flower which enables the character to launch fireballs.
2. The Legend of Zelda

"The Legend of Zelda" is a fantasy, action-adventure game that was first launched in 1986. Link is the main character and the object of the game is to rescue Princess Zelda. The princess was named after the well known novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife, Zelda. Over the course of the different games that make up the series, Zelda has changed from a princess to a pirate and also a ninja.
3. Assassin's Creed

7. Pac-Man
