Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What are the basic units of most materials and terrain in the game called?

Answer: Blocks

Blocks also determine how tall or wide something is, like if someone were to say, "my house is five Blocks high!" then you would know what they meant. This simplifies things when actually discussing structures.
2. What item/block powers a furnace for the most smelts?

Answer: Lava Bucket

You can obtain a Lava Bucket by crafting a regular bucket out of Iron Ingots and right click Lava while holding it. Lava can be found in caverns underground.
3. You are digging for minerals very deep underground, and as you keep digging you hit a block that won't break! What block did you just encounter?

Answer: Bedrock

Bedrock can't be obtained in Survival Mode, but only if you use an inventory editor or play in Creative Mode. Even though it is unbreakable, when you attack it with something, pixels still emerge from the Bedrock.
4. You have successfully killed your first Creeper! Wait... What is this weird item it dropped?

Answer: Gunpowder

Gunpowder is used in the making of TNT. TNT is a great item for easily clearing mines, so kill lots of Creepers to obtain as much Gunpowder as possible!
5. What is the hardest material, of these, used to make tools?

Answer: Diamond

Diamond has been the strongest, rarest, and hardest to find mineral in the entire game (before Netherite was introduced)! It's variety of blue shading gives it a very distinctive look, making for easier location.
6. What will happen if you build a hollow, 4x5 obsidian rectangle and light a fire on the base of it?

Answer: Nether Portals fill the rectangle

When you step into the portal, you are automatically transported to The Nether. The Nether is a Hellish place filled with Ghasts and Zombie Pigmen where lava always flows, Glowstone Chunks float in midair, and your only light source, are never-ending fires.
7. You just finished building your house! Unfortunately, you built it on a boring, flat piece of land with no scenery whatsoever. Then you remember how AWESOME Giant Mushrooms look! But... How do you make one?

Answer: Right-click any type of mushroom while holding Bonemeal

You can easily obtain Bonemeal by killing a Skeleton. Giant Mushrooms can be up to twelve Blocks high!
8. How many different colors of Wool Dye are there?

Answer: Sixteen

The sixteen colors of Wool Dye are: White, Light Gray, Gray, Black, Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Lime, Green, Light Blue, Cyan, Blue, Purple, Magenta, and Brown. Fun Fact: While holding any kind of dye, right-click a sheep, and watch the MAGIC happen.
9. How many different sizes of Slimes are there?

Answer: Three

The Slime sizes are tiny (half the size of a half block of something), medium (just a little bit taller than an average block), and large. Large is about the size of a 4x4 cube of blocks.
10. How is Obsidian created?

Answer: When flowing Water touches Still Lava

On the Moh's Scale of Hardness, Obsidian is only 5.5. That is not as hard as you think it would be, is it? Obsidian is great for defensive structures and blast shields also!
