Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which of these characters is not playable in any way in the first "Tekken"?

Answer: Forest Law

Forest Law is the son of Marshall Law, who is playable in this game. Forest is playable only in "Tekken 3" and "Tekken Tag Tournament". The character "Law" is, however, playable in every "Tekken" game, either as Marshall or Forest. He is one of the most popular characters in the series. Heihachi, Wang and Devil are all unlockable.
2. In "Tekken 2", what character would you need to beat the game with to unlock Heihachi?

Answer: None; he is selectable from the start

Heihachi was the boss character in the previous game who had the moves of Kazuya and Paul, and could be unlocked by beating the game without losing a single match. Kazuya is unlockable in this game, while beating the game with Jun and Jack-2 would unlock Wang and P.Jack, respectively.
3. "Tekken 3" has less characters compared to "Tekken 2". How many characters were there in "Tekken 2" and "Tekken 3", respectively, (alternate costumes such as Panda do not count) in the home versions?

Answer: 23-21

Oddly enough, "Tekken 3" features less characters than the previous game in the series. Many characters were removed, and while some were replaced by younger versions of their selves, others were gone completely. However, the character Ogre has a movelist composed mainly of the moves that the missing characters used.

The new features in "Tekken 3" were Tekken Force and Tekken Ball modes, as well as Theater mode for watching endings and opening movies. The arcade version of "Tekken 3" has nineteen characters, but the question stated the home versions.
4. The fourth game in the series was a non-canon game, "Tekken Tag Tournament". It had the most characters to date, due to the fact that pretty much all the characters from the first three "Tekken" games were in the roster, as well as a new character, Unknown. What feature was new to this game that is yet to appear in any of the other "Tekken" games?

Answer: Tag Battles

"Tekken Tag Tournament" is named just that because of this feature. Sadly, Tekken Force, as well as Tekken Ball modes were removed from this game, due to the lack of disk space. So far, Tekken Football has not appeared in any of the games, and most likely will not be included in any installment.

There are no "more powerful" versions of the boss characters, and thus you cannot play as them.
5. "Tekken 4" had three new characters in its roster. Which one of them had connections with characters from the previous games?

Answer: All of them

By many, "Tekken 4" was considered the worst in the series, due to the fact many characters were removed and the gameplay has been severely altered. Craig Marduk has supposedly killed Armor King, and King started chasing him. Christie Monteiro is the granddaughter of Eddy Gordo's Cappoeira master, Ho Chi Myong. Steve Fox is the son of Nina Williams.
6. "Tekken 5" had an amazing thirty characters in its roster. How many of them were unlockable by beating story mode?

Answer: Ten

Twenty characters are available from the start, and by beating story mode with different characters, you could unlock all the other selectable fighters (random select not counted). Many believe that Devil Jin is only unlockable by beating the Devil Within mini game, although you could unlock him by beating the story mode around fifteen times or so. That's at least how I unlocked him.
7. "Tekken 6" is the first "Tekken" game to be released in arcades only in Japan. What year was it released in?

Answer: 2007

"Tekken 6" was released back in 2007. No "Tekken" games were released in 2006. The home version of "Tekken 5" was released in 2005 and the arcade version was in 2004.
8. In "Tekken: Dark Resurrection", how many new characters were added to the roster?

Answer: Two

All together, four more characters are added in "Tekken: Dark Resurrection". Eddy and Christie are now separate characters, Armor King is there, but he isn't new, as well as Lili and Dragunov, who are newcomers to "Tekken". "Tekken: Dark Resurrection" features many more customizable items, as well as a few new modes.
9. "Tekken Advance" is a non-canon game to the series released for the GBA based on "Tekken 3". It featured a tag mode similar to "Tekken Tag Tournament", and only ten characters, with Heihachi being the unlockable boss. Which two characters were removed from the starting roster?

Answer: Lei and Eddy

Lei and Eddy were removed, most likely because of their stances which had them constantly sidestepping, which would be a problem to implement into a GBA game. Anna and Bryan were removed, but they weren't in the starting ten character (or in this game's case, nine character) roster. Jin was not removed. Mokujin was also removed, but Jun was never in "Tekken 3".
10. Okay, if you're a fan of the "Tekken" series, this should be the easiest question so far. What is the name of the company behind "Tekken"?

Answer: Namco

Yep, guys at Namco are behind this piece of work as well as some other games, such as "Soul Calibur". Midway created "Mortal Kombat", Capcom created "Street Fighter", while Ubisoft has no fighting games that I know of. Hope you enjoyed the quiz!
