1. Which of these airports is not one of the big five?

Answer: DND

DND is Dundee airport and is the smallest of the airports listed here, despite it being closer to a big city than Prestwick!
2. There are three airports on the mainland of Shetland. Which of these is not?

Answer: OUK

OUK is the airport serving the Outer Skerries, which lie to the east of Mainland Shetland. LSI is Sumburgh, the largest of the Shetland airports. LWK is Lerwick/Tingwall, while SCS is Scatsta.
3. There are two airports serving Glasgow, but which one is over 30 miles away from the city? Is it GLA or PIK?

Answer: PIK

PIK is Glasgow Prestwick and is nearer Ayr than Glasgow. It is the older of the two Glaswegian airports.
4. ADX is the airport for which tourist destination?

Answer: Leuchars (St Andrews)

ADX is Leuchars/St Andrews Airport and operates very few civilian flights. Almost all flights are carried out by air forces from around the world including the RAF.

It is the only airport in the world where aircraft can only land subject to the tide, since it is on a stretch of sand. The other airports are BEB which is Benbecula, FIE which is the Fair Isle and ULL is Mull. NB - there is also a Barra Airport in Brazil; its IATA code is BQQ.

Answer: Sanday

Another airport in the Shetland Islands! IATA codes for the other locations are: Dundee = DND, North Ronaldsay = NRL, Stronsay = SOY.

This, the most northerly of all the airports in mainland Scotland, is Wick.
