Answer: Mountain Dew

"Willy the Hillbilly", the little cartoon spokesperson for Mountain Dew, claimed that "It'll tickle your innards". Those of you who remember the green glass bottles of the 60s will remember that they had that very slogan embossed on the bottle. The original creators, Barney and Ally Hartman, originally bottled the drink as a mix for whiskey.

They sometimes referred to their Mountain Dew concoction as "zero-proof moonshine".

Dr.Pepper was created by pharmacist Charles Alderton in the 1880s from twenty-three different flavors, and maintains the same formula over one hundred and thirty years later. One of the more popular jingles it used as a slogan over the years is;
"I'm a Pepper, he's a Pepper,
She's a Pepper, we're a Pepper,
Wouldn't you like to be a Pepper, too?
Be a Pepper. Drink Dr Pepper."

Answer: Sunkist Orange Soda

Crush was originally marketed as just an orange soda, but now markets a full line of flavors including cream soda, pineapple, lime, and even chocolate. Presently owned by the Dr.Pepper Snapple Group in Plano, Texas, it is also very popular in Canada where it is distributed by Canada Dry Motts throughout the country.

7-Up was created in St. Louis in 1929 by Charles Grigg. It was originally marketed as "Bib-Label Lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda" and released just two weeks before the infamous 1929 Wall Street Stock Market crash. Would you believe it actually contained the mood-stabilizer, lithium citrate, until 1950? It was nicknamed "The Un-Cola" in 1967 and is still well known by that moniker today.

"Barq's Has Bite" is the slogan for this brand of root beer which has been bottled for over one hundred years. It is known as Barq's Famous Olde Tyme Root Beer. It was originally named just "Barq's" due to legal struggles with another popular root beer, that being Hire's Root Beer.

The very first slogan used by Coca-Cola was "Drink Coca-Cola", first used in 1886. It has gone through dozens since then including "Enjoy Life" from 1923 and "It's The Real Thing", perhaps its most famous, from 1969. As of 2012, "Open Happiness", is its slogan.

Sprite was introduced in 1961 by the Coca-Cola Company as a response to the rapidly growing popularity of 7-Up, which was bottled and distributed by the PepsiCola Company. In 1978, it finally became the world leader in the lemon-lime soda category.

Vernors is a ginger soda that has been around since 1866. It is, indeed, aged for three years in oak barrels which helps to add to its unique, strong taste. Some people drink it hot as a remedy for stomach-ache, with ginger being the active ingredient.

Jolt Cola originally was bottled under The Jolt Company, but changed its name to Wet Planet Beverages. It later changed its slogan to "Maximum caffeine, more power", once it began using high fructose corn syrup as a sweetener rather than real sugar. It does back up its claim to have twice as much caffeine as regular colas such as Coca-Cola and Pepsi-Cola.

It is also available in several other flavors such as Cherry Bomb, Citrus Climax, and Electric Blue.

Answer: Canada Dry Pale Dry Ginger Ale

Canada Dry has long been known as "The Champagne of Ginger Ales". It was originally invented by Canadian John McLaughlin. Initially named "McLaughlin Belfast Style Ginger Ale", each bottle had a map of Canada and a picture of a beaver (the national animal of Canada) on the label. In 1907, McLaughlin had lightened the dark colour of his first recipe and refined the sharp taste, which resulted in what is now known worldwide as Canada Dry Pale Dry Ginger Ale.
