Anderson came to the crease with England nine wickets down and more than 20 overs left on the final day. He proceeded to bat for 81 minutes, before being caught at bat-pad to hand Sri Lanka victory (with just 1 ball to spare!) by 100 runs. A distraught Anderson slumped to his knees, and later broke down in tears during the post-match presentation while accepting the "Player of the Series" award.
