Are radishes and turnips considered to be tubers?

Both are modified tap roots, while tubers are various types of modified plant structures that are enlarged to store nutrients.

Radishes (Raphanus sativus) are annual or biennial brassicaceous crops grown for their swollen tap-roots which can be globular, tapering or cylindrical.
