At forty-seven kilometres from Aldgate station, the Metropolitan line station at Chesham in Buckinghamshire on is the furthest station from central London.

Chesham is also the furthest station from its adjoining station (Chalfont & Latimer) as the two stops are 6.3km apart.

Until 1961 it was Aylesbury as the line was used by the same Metropolitan Line, which was then taken over by British Rail carrying the parallel service via Harrow on the Hill.
