Of 17 penguin species worldwide, 7 are found in Antarctica, 4 of these live and nest on and around the Antarctic continent and a further 3 live and nest on Antarctic and sub-Antarctic islands. There are around 8.4m penguins in Antarctica. See the Link where the numbers of breeding pairs and individuals are listed.
