This sounds like the Three Brothers jewel, bought by Henry VIII (probably) and incorporated in the English Crown Jewels just before the coronation of Mary I. Elizabeth I is portrayed wearing it, but it was sold during the English Civil War in 1645 and its fate is unknown.
