Known as the "Carlisle Bells", these antiquities are presented to the winner of "The Carlisle Bell" in horseracing, said to be:
Cumbria's most celebrated Flat race.

Actually, I can't find any proof that Elizabeth herself awarded the Carlisle Bells, only that they were first awarded during her reign. The bells were donated by Lady Jane Dacre.

hypatia415 did not mention that Lady Jane Dacre, wife of Thomas Dacre of Naworth, was called Jane Carlisle before her marriage and lived in a house on Abbey Street called Whitehall in Carlisle - the site of Tullie House Museum today.
