Fertilized chicken and quail eggs have been brought into space and both types of birds survive just fine on a spaceship. However, since there is no air they can not fly like they would on Earth. However, the feathers do offer an advantage to stabilizing in space.

But sadly, birds cannot swallow in space, so they only survive if force-fed by their human companions which is what the Russians did with pigeons.
