The "Bridge of No Return" links North Korea and South Korea, crossing the Military Demarcation Line which runs through the centre of the bridge.
The last time it was used for prisoner exchanges was in 1968. At that time the crew of the USS "Pueblo" crossed into South Korea.
The bridge continued to be used by North Korea up until August 1976 when the United Nations Command required the Demarkation Line to be clearly marked and enforced. In just 72 hours, North Korea built a new bridge ("The 72-Hour Bridge") and the original Bridge of No Return is no longer used.
