In an attempt to capitalize on marketing the astronauts of Apollo 15 carried several $2 and $20 bills to the moon in an effort to sell them to collectors on Earth. The case that got left behind was by mistake! So those bills have been sitting on the moon for over 50 years now! They would be valuable indeed if anyone recovered them.
